Welcome to Somnia's fifth ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THIS APP ROUND: With September marking the start of the game's second arc, there will be a setting shift and thus we'll be skipping a TDM/app round for that month to better situate our current players. With that said, our next app round after this one will only being in October, so I've decided to uncap the game and thus the number of apps coming in this round and going forward (at least until where I feel like I can handle it).

IN SUMMARY, If you have interest in apping, now might be a good time if you do not wish to wait three months for the next round, or risk the game getting capped again!



Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: June 1st
- RESERVES: June 12th
- APPS: June 19th - 24th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision to send an invite (note that this does not guarantee one). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Brief Info: Imagine if a necromancer was a really annoying phd student whose idea of a fun time was a lively socratic seminar. That’s Pal! He’s a brilliant scholar among a society of scholars, and is not only a studied expert in human anatomy and soul manipulation, but also general medicine. He deeply values truth and knowledge above everything, but is also very kind and supportive, and fervently believes you can achieve your ideal outcome so long as you fight for it. And he is very, very practiced in fighting for it, he has back up plans, theories and contingencies like you wouldn’t believe. He also enjoys poetry and trashy romance novels.
Vessel Type & General ideas: An artificer! I want him to absolutely indulge in the mad scientist spirit that he would’ve excelled at under different circumstances. He is very much about research and testing boundaries, and his main specialty in necromancy was basically clairvoyance, so he will be absolutely ravenous figuring out how shit works. Leave him alone long enough and he will recreate his home world’s necromantic magic, just you wait.

That said, his truest passion is medicine, so I would absolutely love for him to offer those services to others! He’s invented medical tech before in his canon, and I would love for him to do it here with artifcing, whether it be medical tech, disability aids, or anything else!

Okay so I’ve been contemplating tossing Cam in here for like the last YEAR?? (to the point where I have a whole moodboard around her as a Seraph. Which… would definitely need to be reconfigured with less focus on grief if there was a Pal around (in his own body, even (!!)) but adjsfl I am ALL FOR IT? Did not think I’d ever be looking at the possibility.

(imagine them not knowing the other is there too and having to figure it out. imagine these codependent losers with a literal emotional tether. imagine.)

Artificer is exactly the right category for Pal, I think. A+++ no notes.

Anyway, I will stop babbling at you! I’ve just hit oh god but what if my canonmate thinks I’m awful and neither of those is necessary. But so glad to see a Pal player!

AUGH THESE INSPIRATIONS ARE SO GOOD.... so like okay years ago when Ryslig was still around I actually played Palamedes there and he was basically a Seraph so I am fucking living for all the fire and burnt feathers and AAUUUGGGH YES.

I would definitely take from a Nona canon point so GOD them just getting plopped on opposite ends of fuck all and going where the fuck. Where the fuck is my little guy they're not here anymore and freaking out and then finding each other and then GETTING OT HAVE THE LITERAL EMOTIONAL TETHER STILL!!!!

fun fact I strongly considered having him basically still be stuck in a copy of Camilla's body but i think with him being an artifcer I'm gonna have him get his original body but with his death wounds, so he's gonna be all put back together with all these weird magic-mechanical scars :) but look cam he's got his own body back!!!

AND YOU ARE TOTALLY GOOD this was such a delight to see in my inbox when I got up oh my god <3 if all my plans go apace and you do end up apping Camilla too I will be so excited

OOH. okay gotta admit the idea of a pair of Camilla-bodied people, one Seraph, one Artificer is semi-hilarious (the shenanigans!) and also, very gender in the way TLT quietly is, but. BUT. I love the idea of him being literally reformed from pieces. I'm imagining this in an almost kintsugi-esque way...? but I can envision it in many versions and they're all cool. (Cam will have so many feelings. Just...so many feelings. Damn. As I think about that you've just managed to -- without even planning -- pull off a fairly Muir-esque one-two punch of tangible, impossibly relieving discovery; comes with side of permanent-reminder-of-the-worst-moment-of-your-life.)

(*cough*...Here is where I pause and ask you what your feelings on Cam/Pal are. I am happy with literally any answer to that question! Having two of them is always better than having just one of them regardless of the specifics -- and from browsing your opt-outs I'm pretty sure I know, but. A check seems wise?)

I'm literally about to leave on vacation and I'm a little oh nooo but. I'm definitely inspired now! YOU SEE MY EXACT DILEMMA!! The gender is delicious but I think I will ultimately go with his actual pre-death fucked up body; something kintsugi-like was absolutely what I was thinking (though probably even more gruesome and fucked up, hehe). (AND YEEESSSSS THANK YOU it wasn't intentional but the more I think about it I'm like. nah man that's gotta be it. Horribly Pal is like, incredibly blasse about blowing himself up so this is just gonna end up even more stressful for Camilla I think jgfg.)

(and I am super down for Cam/Pal!! Cam/Pal/Dulcie has my fucking HEART in a vice but obviously in lieu of Dulcie being here they still have each other to depend on and share memories of her. <3)

(Haha, it’s not — ok maybe it’s a little horrible?? but it’s UNDERSTANDABLE that he’s not that bothered by his own death, under the circumstances. Even Cam isn’t exactly upset about the decision itself, I think. … I love [writing/reading/playing] them trying to cope with all that together because both, especially Cam, are so logical and decisive but nothing in those feelings gives a single fuck.)

Ohhh, considering we have two medical doctors and a vet plus one of the areas with the lab area with most of the potentially salvageable equipment got lava.... flying volcano style superheated rock smashed up etc in the current event, his timing would be 1000% perfect opportunity for the medicine/medical device focus and so appreciated. (they are also in need of more drugs that aren't potentially expired drugs)
