Welcome to Somnia's fifth ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THIS APP ROUND: With September marking the start of the game's second arc, there will be a setting shift and thus we'll be skipping a TDM/app round for that month to better situate our current players. With that said, our next app round after this one will only being in October, so I've decided to uncap the game and thus the number of apps coming in this round and going forward (at least until where I feel like I can handle it).

IN SUMMARY, If you have interest in apping, now might be a good time if you do not wish to wait three months for the next round, or risk the game getting capped again!



Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: June 1st
- RESERVES: June 12th
- APPS: June 19th - 24th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision to send an invite (note that this does not guarantee one). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

I noticed your ATP!! I'm genuinely thrilled to see a truce at the dismay of everyone being subjected to Divorce Drama. I know that when I previously played Ekko in a game, he was the one trying to enact a truce between Jinx and Vi. It was.......... a mess, lol.

It's been hilarious. One zaun dad says "your safe rooms are a trap" and another goes "nu huh, yours is"

While jinx is in middle like: 🧍‍♀️ "... so anyway there's like 60-something mini apartment rooms on top of this bar up for vacancy, feel free to live there I guess"

Lol poor ekko! At least he won't have to do it here, it's already been done. Funny enough, it was jinx who came up with the idea the cast should have one.

I'm so fascinated by this chill jinx lol, I would love to dig into how she got to that point (more trauma?? Somehow healing?? It sounds interesting)

It was probably because I've only ever rped with a Jinx fresh from the warzone (trying to blow herself or someone else up). It'll be fun to reverse that a little bit with a fresh Ekko and a seasoned in-game jinx haha

yeah, jinx has been in this game since it opened (7 months in game) and she's been through a lot. she may tell ekko about how she got to this point in the game; she may not! we'll see!! it's funny because she has close relationships with a few people, but a lot of them don't know that jinx is/was a murderer and who has done terrible things because she doesn't talk about her life much. most people in the game only see jinx as this edgy girl with mental illness, LOL.

but how she got to this point, really, is all thanks to the game mechanics. many characters mention how intrusive tethers are, but tethers have a positive effect on jinx. instead of just arguing with her voices about whether so-and-so cares about her or not and them trying to manipulate her or the situation (which still happens; our feburary's event fucked her up, lol), the people she has a tether with can easily go to her head and squash all of that and chase her voices/thoughts away.

and tethers let characters feel people's emotions too, so she can feel her important people care and love her—so that's a big help. she has a little support group also, and this game has so many characters who are doctors and in the medical field, and we have at least two characters who are either therapists or have some therapy background, and she is seeing one of them.

just a lot of that combined has helped her calm down and of course, with the events being all horror and crazy, all the time, it had made her rethink those arcane canon problems < the shit we are dealing with now lol.

it's like "okay vi, you want to be an enforcer and fuck a police officer lady? okay fine do whatever you want. i'm trying to not get mauled by these man-eating demon dogs, not die from inhaling fungal plant fumes, and trying to not get mindfucked by this evil god lady. that's kind of more important than whatever we were going through. "

Yeah, I figured from the premise of tethering that Jinx would likely benefit a lot from it since she's naturally so paranoid of what others think of her. Kinda makes me really interested to see how Jinx and Ekko interact with the whole, outward (potential?) hostility/awkwardness versus the tethered deep-rooted care and love for one another. That'll be such a can of worms haha

I can totally see how that length of time and endurance of horror events would make her start to prioritize some things over others. Not Arcane but I played a similarly mentally unstable/socially paranoid character in a different horror game and the events just started to outweigh any past guild he had about being a Terrible Person. Survival mode and trauma bonding just seems to have that effect

But man, I'm glad Jinx has friends because she NEEDS THEM!!!! Let that girl be loved so that she stops tormenting herself as much
