Welcome to Somnia's fifth ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THIS APP ROUND: With September marking the start of the game's second arc, there will be a setting shift and thus we'll be skipping a TDM/app round for that month to better situate our current players. With that said, our next app round after this one will only being in October, so I've decided to uncap the game and thus the number of apps coming in this round and going forward (at least until where I feel like I can handle it).

IN SUMMARY, If you have interest in apping, now might be a good time if you do not wish to wait three months for the next round, or risk the game getting capped again!



Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: June 1st
- RESERVES: June 12th
- APPS: June 19th - 24th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision to send an invite (note that this does not guarantee one). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Brief Info: Grown Up Child Soldier without an identity who was experimented on between being sent to war zones is taken in as an experiment by the mastermind behind the Holy Grail War in the US. The plan: see what happens when someone with no identity, no desire beyond decent meals and a place to sleep, and no summoning relic is told to participate in the a Holy Grail War.

The idea was that the youthful looking soldier, Sigma, would summon a Lancer. He summons something else and is given the opportunity that will certainly change the course of his life and probably break the Holy Grail War entirely.

Vessel Type & General ideas:

In short, without spoilers, the Servant that Sigma summons is basically a sky whale and has an ongoing motif of mariners and figures who were lost at sea. Making him an Aquamancer or some kind of Merrow would be fitting. I'm open to ideas, however, because Sigma is a self described Spellcaster who's favorite spell is to pull out his gun.

The idea is multi tiered here. By the end of season one of FSF, Sigma makes a definitive Choice. I'm obviously pulling him from before that. Besides that, he's building his character from the bottom up and seems to be taking cues from various places, ranging from Monty Python to a Religious Zealot of an Assassin to a mistreated little girl.

I'm curious to see what happens.

I'm also curious about who he'll adopt and nominate himself bodyguard for. The possibilities for what will happen are endless.

He's been living Rent Free in my head for months you have no idea.

Thing is, what kind of Merrow?

Actually, now that I'm researching it, the Servant is visually based on a Sperm Whale, which are the last extant relatives of a class of prehistoric creatures named after the Leviathan.

Oh this is going to be fascinating to research into. Especially since Moby Dick author Melville often referred to the whales as leviathans.

All merrows are equally cute and deserve of being loved. Whale merrows just means more merrow to love.

I noticed there's like no mammalian merrows... Whale could also be hard, but seals are often eaten by whales and sharks and Sigma is basically lined up to be a cosmic chew toy.

So many thoughts. It's quite fascinating.

If you want to have a spicier whale, you could go with orca. They look cute but could definitely fuck sharks, dolphins, humans, and fish up.

Yes but I'm trying to figure out the logistics.

Whales are big and don't have legs. Some pinnepeds chase down penguins on land because they're just crazy.

I've been chewing on this guy for months. My plan was to try to cultivate a geomancer since we evidently have none- but obviously that's not happening, lol.

One day they will come. Possibly? I mean if you want to throw him off that's a route. It is pretty funny to continue not having geo. I can't help either, Diluc is going to be a wind drake.
