He’s a brilliant scholar among a society of scholars, and is not only a studied expert in human anatomy and soul manipulation, but also general medicine. He deeply values truth and knowledge above everything, but is also very kind and supportive, and fervently believes you can achieve your ideal outcome so long as you fight for it. And he is very, very practiced in fighting for it, he has back up plans, theories and contingencies like you wouldn’t believe. He also enjoys poetry and trashy romance novels.
Vessel Type & General ideas: An artificer! I want him to absolutely indulge in the mad scientist spirit that he would’ve excelled at under different circumstances. He is very much about research and testing boundaries, and his main specialty in necromancy was basically clairvoyance, so he will be absolutely ravenous figuring out how shit works. Leave him alone long enough and he will recreate his home world’s necromantic magic, just you wait.

That said, his truest passion is medicine, so I would absolutely love for him to offer those services to others! He’s invented medical tech before in his canon, and I would love for him to do it here with artifcing, whether it be medical tech, disability aids, or anything else!

Brief Info: I'm going very simple with this because World of Darkness is Stupid /affectionate. Anyways sorry this got long as WoD requires a little front-loading.

Wayland is a werewolf, or for the proper WoD term, a Garou - a being who is part spirit, part wolf, and part human. Born as a wolf to a prestigious Garou warrior, Wayland was destined to become a Bane Tender (someone who cleanses the land and "jails" powerful spirits of corruption known as Banes.) Due to several circumstances in his younger years, Wayland ran away from this duty, returning only when the Bane known as Storm Eater began to threaten the world once more. With a small pack of two other Garou, a Fate tied to protecting Gaia and all of Her creations, and a piece of Storm Eater inside of him, Wayland is just a man-wolf-spirit trying to save the world.

Personality-wise, Wayland is just The Most Guy of all time. He's polite, if very blunt and to the point. He doesn't hesitate to speak his mind and born under the half moon, he is a Philodox - a judge, mediator, and negotiator. He knows how to work with people from all walks of life and is never quick to jump to conclusions, preferring to utilize his empathy and hear others out whether their opinions differ from his or not. As a Garou, he is slow to simmer and contains a very volatile rage that would normally cause him to werewolf out into a hulking killing machine... but that's not going to be a problem here necessarily :,)

Vessel Type & General ideas: ~~Lycan, duh~~

- The Kimera. Wayland's involvement with Banes including his union with a piece of Storm Eater has given him many identity problems; his abilities back home would manifest as oily, serpent-like scales.

OR Options that veer off course from his usual vibe that could give him some interesting trouble:

- The Trickster as his particular brand of werewolf is the sort that values truth and only truth.
- The Leshy due to his spiritual connections with Gaia/the Earth
- The Seraph with the connotations to the Heavens in Werewolf the Apocalypse as some of the aspects there resonate really well with the book itself!

As a note, I'm not sure if I'll app this round or the much later round, but! I figured I'd peek in anyways...

Wanted: whoever man! come on in. if you're considering apping into this cast, here are some things to know because it's been a while:

1. the cast currently has a peace treaty between them, and somehow it is still intact. that's crazy. but throwing verbal jabs is still cool.

2. you get 2 for 1 with vander! you get vander and warwick. warwick is mostly seen in the dreamscape.

3. silco and vander are both doing their own little player plots about providing safe havens for people in mahattan. really over here dividing the city and making characters choose who spends the weekend at whose house. their divorce is becoming everyone's problem.

4. jinx is the "hotel manager" at the devi's nest, aka paradise lost (cocktail bar) and anyone who lives there is part of her little "gang". she is trying to be a better person, be more caring, try to give more shits, and help people. it's mostly because the big bad NPC god told her that she and jinx are essentially the same, and she refuses to believe that and wants to prove her wrong that jinx is the better symbol of hope than her.

which is going just about how you would expect. she still gets into random arguments with people, has injured a few people, is still crude—all that good stuff. but hey, she managed to have some friends (not a lot) and she has a little girlfriend now, so she isn't too bad off!

about "a" hextech gemstone's whereabouts:

jinx has one infused on her back, but this is only in the dreamscape world, and she has to stay as far away from jayce as possible because he gets obsessed seeing it and tries to claw it out of her back.

Scholar is an Albinauric which is a race that does come with some content warnings: dehumanization, torture, unwilling transformations, mass homicide, tools of war, human experimentation...

So, he comes from a race that is named Albinauric but they're homunculi. He's a first generation and that's known because uh, he has a human form. Second generation look more frog-like and unable to speak. They're not really seen as a people and hated due to being homunculi. Also some are captured and experimented on by other groups 'cause you know... it's free materials for necromancy or figuring out how best to do torture. Good times...

But! At the Round Table Hold in Nightreign, Scholar has friends with the other nightfarers and having a lovely time. I mean, kind of. His body is also aging rapidly and going to become a crippled state eventually, but hey, coming to Sleephattan means he doesn't have to worry about that anymore. So, like, that's a plus!

He honestly is full of a lot of hope and believes deeply in the future. There's little resentment that he holds towards others and believes that one day the community that he has experienced with the nightfarers will be something that the Albinaurics can have with all others, since there are a variety of people at the Round Table Hold, too.

Yeah... rather than lament his personal situation of his illness, he wants to instead believe something good will come for his people with time.

Brief Info: A time-displaced teenage speedster from the future who was raised in a virtual reality, and is the epitome of "the horrors are never ending, but I remain silly". He's had one good year of his life where he had relative stability, but then his mentor/adopted father died, and it's all been a living hell since. Just a constant stream of world-ending crises, friends and family dropping like flies around him, resurrecting just to die again, getting killed and brought back himself, getting unmade by reality and clawing his way back, just to realize no one remembers him and a good chunk of friends and family got wiped from reality as well. Then, fighting tooth and nail to hop universes and timelines to find where they got thrown to and drag them back to reality with him. It's been a lot, and on top of that, he's part of a superhero legacy that he feels he's failing to live up to. Trapped between wanting to not give a shit what his mentors, Wally and Barry, think of him anymore, and desperately wanting not to be the screw up Wally says he is, and that he often feels like.

Meanwhile, he's shoving down his own anxieties and trauma (it's totally healthy, don't worry about it) to be the goofy, energetic ray of sunshine his friends expect and need him to be, because someone has to keep them together and remind everyone that not everything is shit all the time. This isn't the 90's, god damn it, we can't all be emo at the same time!

Vessel Type & General ideas: I'm most likely going with Token for him. The Chronomancer just fits him very well, both as a replacement for his speedster abilities (which already dip their toes into time-altering abilities) and because, even for a speedster, he's had a lot of experience with time shenanigans. Though if I went the Offerings route, I think I would go with a Satyr, cuz while it doesn't fit him as well, it could be very fun to play with. Plus, I love an excuse to do "monster" designs for characters.

Vessel Type & General ideas: i'm planning to go for trickster! i love that it's got a sneaky, non-combative skillset and that it's got built in identity messiness, perfect for a guy whose personal identity is very messy between the various roles he's played at between his two lives. i also love the vulnerability to truth-telling magic and being bound by oaths, given his dishonest and slippery nature. on a similar note, i'm really interested in playing around with the dichotomy between the waking world and the dreamscape; i think it'd be super fun if he resembled shang qinghua in one space and xiang fei in the other, since canonically they look pretty much Nothing alike. i'm also really excited to play around with tethering, since he's SO allergic to emotional intimacy and letting people close in canon.

in terms of stuff he can bring to the game... he can cook!! he can clean!! he can mend your clothes!!!! he can even give you (not very good) romantic advice!!!!! he can write pornography of dubious quality!!!!! in all sincerity he actually has a very wide and varied skillset that touches base on basically Any area of logistics you can think of... most of which probably aren't applicable due to the apocalytic nature of the setting...

Brief Info: Twelve fingers, zero chill. Ford is an old man (somewhere from late sixties to early seventies but the timeline is [waggles hand] because Alex Hirsch can't do math) who is so weird that studying weirdness is his special interest and lifelong passion. This led to him making a Faustian deal with a demonic triangle in a top hat, building a portal to hell and spending thirty years of his life wandering the vast multiverse. He's voiced by JK Simmons, he has a warrant in half of the known dimensions, he can voluntarily shut off his own fear response, he shaves by lighting his face on fire and he absolutely loves jelly beans. He is also equipped with the emotional maturity of a sixteen year old because he's deeply undersocialized and prone to pushing people away on purpose because he expects every interaction to go badly from the jump. I'll be taking him post-canon, meaning he is trying to make an effort to trust other people and be a better person, but decades of ingrained paranoia and survival instinct and grudge-holding are hard to break. Bully him, he deserves it.

Vessel Type & General ideas: Runecaster is pretty much the only choice. Ford knows thirteen languages, loves ciphers and codes and often writes his own notes in formats that only he can understand. Glyphs and repeating images are kind of the bread and butter of his story, to the point that the main villain refers to most major characters by their associated symbol. My plan is for him to invent not just one system of runes but multiple different ones with various complexity based on different use cases. He's obnoxious and extra like that, and also paranoid enough to have a set of languages he's willing to make open source and a set that is proprietary and fiendishly complicated to try and stop anyone from decoding or replicating it. He also has tattoos and is an accomplished artist, so I want to play with the concept of enchanted ink/tattooed sigils/illustrations imbued with magic and things of that nature.

You've heard the memes. But now that she's alive again, she's cheerfully intending to stay that way, and getting back in touch with things that the living do. Like having emotions? And friends? Wild concept tbh.

Vessel Type & General ideas: I've definitely settled on Token, but I keep waffling back and forth between (of course) Necromancy and Chronomancy - both are so good! both are in her wheelhouse! and both are things I never get to play with in games!! I will almost certainly have her hop between them occasionally through events, but deciding on the starter one is still very important.

As for game ideas, some of it depends on which Token subtype she ends up with, but in both cases the core idea boils down to "she's going to be so normal about living in the apocalypse". Girl does amateur archaeology for fun. This is quite literally her dream environment. Let her dig stuff up for you!! If she goes Chronomancer, she'll be using that magic to the fullest in restoring things or preventing problems, and if she goes Necromancer, well. She's no stranger to talking to the dead, or playing psychopomp to other characters who die.

I'm going to see about bringing Jaskier back finally and using this as an excuse to update him to the end of S4 now as well. With that in mind - I'm considering swapping his vessel type. The pyromancer thing was because he'd been freshly tortured by a fire mage before and I'm awful that way, but by end of S4 enough time has passed for him to be mostly over it. Now he's made good with Geralt once more, had his own messy divorce, and is returning generally mentally better off even with the "Well I think I just started someone's villain arc, oops" – though with a fresh head injury for the trouble.

I had considered Satyr for him in the past and am circling back to it again, but am open to ideas and/or suggestions for anyone who may know a vessel type better tied to music as the game has progressed.

Vessel Type & General ideas: Kantarou is pretty well equipped for Horror because his monster of the week series tends to kill a lot of people and he's seen a lot of bullshit in his little life.

Brief Info: Once just a cute, pink girl from a quiet village of Aedes Elysiae who went on to become a demigod (of sorts) and has an extreme belief in love! She's been through a LOT but it never diminished her love of others or her passion to do what's right.

She has a big heart and took on a role of someone to keep their legacy alive, and even went on to ensure the world she loved so much wouldn't be at risk of being destroyed. A kind girl who deserves the world and the happiness she wishes to give others, having experienced at least thirty three million instances of death and now essentially lives 'in the past'.

Brief Info: Former knight turned bartender and nations wide intelligence gatherer. He moonlights as another defender of his city. His sense of humor is dry and his idea of justice used to be very black and white. It has gotten grayer over time. That said he was raised with the idea that he serves the people, not the other way around. He's the sort of noble that will fall on his sword sooner than endanger those who can't defend themselves.

He's been learning how to be a person outside of those roles in recent times. But finding the balance between servant of the people, and friend of those in his inner circle is taking some time!
Vessel Type & General ideas: I'm torn between a Drake Offering, and going Elemental Token. Either way I want to do a different element from the one he generally wields. It feels fun to throw him off and he'll have to find his footing. I'm thinking leaning towards wind for the element of token or drake. A nice middle ground. He's technically already takes more damage from his opposite.

But I'm open to him exploring fire in a different way. I just think it will be more fun to throw him off. I'll think it over. I've got a lot ideas.

Vessel Type & General ideas: A Token - Lightweaver so he can sort of get close to being a lamp again even though he'd be stuck with his meat-sac of a human body.

Brief Info: A school nurse with a Ph.D. in subterfuge and stabbing. He also has the best candies always on hand. Since he's a resonator, he's able to manipulate his blood into all kinds of weapons and use them in combat.

Brief Info: luka is a horrible little clone man who has been through two rounds of american idol: sing or die and won both (technically) (kind of) by singing real good and also being a psychologically manipulative bastard. he has no idea how to be a human person or emotion correctly and his body is every conceivable kind of fucked up because he was gengineered to be the prettiest singing boy imaginable, which i guess doesn't require his heart to work correctly? ask the aliens.

overall my goals for him are just to make him make connections and feel stuff. i want to give him a feelings-about-other-humans swirly. he really does not see himself as A People and i feel getting smushed against somebody else's brain will disillusion him of that pretty quickly. my secondary goal is for him to get beat up at least a couple times because that is something that happens to him a lot in canon and he does deserve it.

Brief Info: buff lesbian with a bad attitude and great jokes grows up in a hole in pluto forced into a cursed catholic-flavored cult indentured to worst enemy. worst enemy drags buff lesbian into necromancy competition to become saint to space god emperor. pros: there are girls and food there. cons: many horrible things happen and buff lesbian's bad attitude grows significantly worse. i don't know if nona spoilers are worth spoiler tagging still but i feel like they are so also dying and being resurrected on the necromancy space opera equivalent of maury sucks pretty bad
Vessel Type & General ideas: as funny as it would be to make her a necromancer, i'm thinking either fae-style swarmling, daemon, or beastkin? i want something associated with fire or life rather than cold or death.

what i think would be interesting about gideon here is that she hides a lot more than one might expect given her general demeanor, which is very, you know, goof goof dildo. i think actually tethering with her would be kind of overwhelming because she has a lot of unpleasant stuff going on under the hood and has been even less able to do anything with it as of recent canon events. she would also find the setting extremely jarring - not because of the disorienting unreality dreamstate stuff but because she can walk around and touch dirt and do more or less what she wants. she can do SPORTS even. who wants to do SPORTS
