I've spoken to a couple of people who don't believe they were at death's door, but acknowledged the possibility of something sudden having caught them unawares. One of them did immediately have theories about warped reality.

And at least one other person who did die.

And a few who didn't indicate one way or another. [ Because he did manage to have at least a couple of somewhat normal conversations amidst all the "sup, you dead too?" ones. ]
