Because I am the reason I am no longer alive.

While I appreciate a second chance to attempt to complete my life's work to an extent, I have long grown weary of living. If I cannot accomplish my goal this time, there is nothing waiting on the other side.

I have been dead for a very long time. I was not elderly when I died, and I have only been here a few months.

If it makes a difference, I did get something of an afterlife, hence how I can tell the difference.
