This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. - EVENT/TDM: September 1stAn opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

πΉ Luka is a veteran idol in a world where humans live on the margins of an alien society and many are enslaved as pets. A select few are prized for their singing wherein they compete on stage, not unlike your average Korean music program... Except that the loser is executed for a little added tension! Haha, yay!
πΉ Bred and raised for this express purpose, Luka is a survivor that has long learned resistance and emotional bonds are foolish. To the aliens he entertains, he is an obedient, frail, and princely figure whose performances are without flaw. To the humans he performs with... He is a cruel, ruthless, and dominating presence that finds their attempts at competition futile and amusing.
πΉ That is to say, Luka is a complete fucking weirdo incapable of normal human interaction, even with the one person he loves, and that isn't even the reason he repulses her!
Vessel Type & General Ideas:
πΉ I'm extremely unmarried to a vessel.
πΉ Offerings like kimera and seraph really lean into a lot of Luka's physicality, but the state of his health (asthma, migraines, and a congenital heart defect) in a setting like this is its own form of horror without either but especially kimera. Nonetheless, I really like the freakishness of kimera as a compliment to Luka's inability to act like a normal human being!
πΉ On the other hand, I think a token type like lightweaver is funny because Luka's emotions are so suppressed (and also he is a frequently unpleasant person), whereas illusionist taps into his, uh, stage methods and its boundaries with identity, the complete decompression from a pretty fucked up life in which Luka had no control to truly live.
πΉ Otherwise, I don't have hard plans for the game! Luka is post Wiege, middle of Karma, so he has a few guiding principles to explore more normal human interactions and settings (ish)... But I think his development is an open road that depends on game events and his CR, sooo... Yeehaw!! π€
πΉ I'm in the middle of starting a new term @ uni, so I will not be TLing! But I am open to using this as a sly little plotting post. I'd really like for Luka to die to the Mind Flayer/Abomination, being as he is cracked wide open during his current canonpoint, so if that's something someone wants to watch... Yeehaw...? π€ ??

despite all my initial protests to monster transformation, i am leaning towards an offering atm... a lot of the offering effects on tdm stood out to me more than token. π€

Luka...! Oh boy oh boy... Till's fav person in the world right now.
Man, Luka in the game as anything would be so interesting though. I can see all of these options working as being fun in some way. For Till, I went with Lightweaver! He's one of the most painfully 'human' among the cast, and so I had to keep him human, and thought the lightweaver option was cute. Kimera would be so good. And Seraph really does feel like the right aesthetic somehow. haha.
NGL, when I first saw Illusionist, I thought of Luka too. Anything you would go with would be fun, though.
I was not going to originally toplevel since I am testing out a second character, too. But...! I am likely going to now due to having so many plans I already made with people. I am happy to do something fun with Luka! Or have him surprise him later like wait THAT GUYS here too???

100%, lightweaver works so well for till. narratively, i love if he (and a potential hyuna) are tokens where the remaining cast is offerings, but illusionist has so much potential... if nothing else, because i really enjoy writing luka as fucking with people offstage, too. π (that said, i am leaning offering atm... indecision!!!)
of course, i would love to do smth with till!! luka's initial reaction will amount to "i thought that guy died, huh" LMAO. i do have an open post we can use if you don't tl, but if you're planning some open prompts, idm waiting to see what grabs me? i'm really winging it here, so the only thing that springs to mind is that it might be interesting for till to see luka sink for a little bit.

BUT Man, Hyuna would be so awesome to have, too. Imma just make grabby hands at everyone. I did finally put up a toplevel for Till! If none of those ping, though, we can hash something out! I'm sure that Ivan can probably appear in most of the options with Till, too!

chimera, the catch-all for monsters created by experiments in so much media, love that for him. the options it has that essentially say "constantly shifting body" have such immaculate horror potential for a character already wrestling with theirs, if you wanted to go that way
i don't think ivan has any particular feelings about luka other than "obstacle" and "mizi punched that guy, lol" but hey i am game to see how it shakes out, especially when they both go out of the way to be a bit of a troll every now and then
... and ivan in-game is a giant centipede abomination, i think that covers everything

TRUE, i hadn't even thought about that. the multiple organs is what stood out to me like, what if the guy with heart problems grows another one? what if that's defective, too?? what if he just screams and writhes on the floor! (also, the emphasis on spines...)
i think there's potential for smth like... tolerance? (no actor au for us...) as it is, luka does not care about ivan, either, but i wouldn't rule out the possibility that luka rubs round six and seven in ivan's face at some point... if we planned smth, i think a thread with action or a goal would prob help!

so what if luka sometimes sprouts more limbs sometimes and then just lies on the floor bc his heart can't supply them all, he persists.... i don't *not* love seraph. imperfect angel is also interesting vibes.
ia goal-oriented is the way to go, i dunno if the tentacle monster stuff on the tdm is It, but i have heard whisperings that october will bring us Much To Do and See
