Welcome to Somnia's second ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: September 1st
- RESERVES: September 12th
- APPS: September 16th - 23rd

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Astarion was a privileged magistrate in the city of Baldur's Gate until he was bitten by the sadistic vampire, Cazador Szarr. As a vampire spawn, Astarion was compelled to follow Cazador's commands for two hundred years. After being abducted by mind flayers and infected with an illithid parasite, he's freed of the drawbacks of being a vampire spawn and can walk in the daylight, enter homes uninvited, and disobey his master's commands.

Even after two centuries of servitude, Astarion still has all the qualities of a spoiled noble: haughty, prejudiced, demanding. However, his time as a slave has also made him cynical, mistrusting, and vengeful. His top priority is looking out for number one, and his typical way of doing so is ingratiating himself with others through manipulation, often with sex and insincere flirtation.

Vessel Type & General ideas: he's already got body horror x2 with being a vampire and having a brain parasite SO i'm thinking token!! illusionist, bloodwright, and lightweaver (to be ironic...) are on my mind!! i mostly want him to be a little gremlin and make everyone's day worse. it's time to manipulate mansplain manwhore fellas

i played bg3 recently and i was kind of bummed i was already playing a rogue because it turns out astarion's the funniest character. stoked to see that guy around!

I have a guy here that Astarion will just love: Harry’s so desperate to be needed and afraid of abandonment that he'll let himself be manipulated even though he sees through it. Also? He's discovering his bisexuality and is especially weak for beautiful twinks. Treat him like a dog? He’s used to that, and there’s a comfort in familiarity.

The other guy I’ll be TDM-ing (Dale Cooper) is a serious white knight type, loves to fix broken people so he doesn’t have to look at himself too closely. Was trapped in a trauma hell torture dimension for 25 years. Would absolutely think he can fix Astarion.

I actually don't know BG3, but I have seen a lot of stuff with Astarion due to his popularity, so I can say least say it would be fun to have him here!

i adore astarion to bits (and sprayed him with water instead of ascending him); would be so interested to see how he handles being in somnia's setting. that said, knowing astarion's Usual Mode Of Handling Things, this FAQ answer may be of interest and/or relevance to where you'd like to take him in game c:

I haven't finished BG3 myself but that is largely because I'm the kind of person that digs around for every last little thing so it is taking me forever lol.

Clive would be a good influence on this little gremlin. Maybe. Probably. He's a good guy who isn't above a little revenge. ;)
