Behold, an opportunity to gather.
Welcome to Somnia's third ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

- EVENT/TDM: December 1stAn opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Life has been smacking me around this month so I haven't gotten much done, but in the spirit of optimism that things will Get Better, I wanted to bring a gremlin in for December... help me pick which one!!
α CHARACTER
Name: Hiiragizawa Eriol
Canon: Cardcaptor Sakura / Clear Card-hen
Brief Info: Once the most powerful magician in the world, Eriol is 13-going-on-30 - or, well, 47? He also has all of the memories of the previous most powerful magician in the world, Clow Reed, who also happens to be the lynch pin that set the entire series in motion - and also in part for two of CLAMP's other series: Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and xxxHolic. Don't think about it too much.
Eriol reminds the titular character a lot of her father, and it's not just because her father and Eriol are split reincarnations of the same soul (again, don't think about it too much). He is obnoxiously perfect: polite and well-mannered, intelligent, old-fashioned in his expression of being a gentleman, mature beyond his (physical) years, ceaselessly smiling, helpful, and worries/cares about those around him. Oh, and he can cook and sew. In private, he serves as the BBEG of the second arc of the original series for both selfless and selfish reasons, and as an inscrutable will-he-won't-he help sort of enigma through most of the new series. He's not above harmless pranks (mostly deceiving the gullible with absurd 'facts'), and is described by 'most people' as 'impossible to understand.'
Mostly I just think it would be fun to harass people with someone who looks like a 13-year-old in the hellscape that is Sleephattan, but is extremely uncanny.
Vessel Type & General ideas: Token / Runecaster - specifically, he uses tarot cards for readings in Clear Card-hen, so I thought it would be fun to bring to Somnia with a twist!

Name: Grey Lambe
Canon: Original Character
Brief Info: Grey is a quiet, unassuming young man that lives outside of a tiny rural town in the Appalachians, tending his vegetable and herb garden, foraging, studying medicine, caring for the health of the locals who begrudgingly visit him in emergencies because there's no doctor nearby... oh and he summons demons, by way of which he's currently in a situationship with Stolas, a prince of Hell. Did I mention Grey owes his soul to a different demon? He's working on it.
Grey was a military (Navy) brat, and has lived in several countries. After the death of both parents, he lived with a family friend he called Aunt in Australia. From her he learned witchcraft and working with angels. After not getting the answer he wanted from an angel at age 13, Grey turned to the Lesser Key of Solomon to see if a demon would be less scrupulous about returning the dead to life. (They weren't, but one of them did get the promise of his soul out of it.) Despite a less than stellar start to his career in demonolatry, Grey continues to work with demons, turning from the idea of ever seeing his parents again to instead learning and helping the living.
The only problem is, no one really wants anything to do with a witch - especially in the rural, deeply Christian American town Grey chose to settle in for Reasonsβ’. But, desperate times call for desperate measures, even if that means bending one's morals.
Vessel Type & General ideas: Offering / Leshy - leaning towards the ghost gum tree for his form: think papery skin, spindly antler-like branches, and smaller draping branches that flower or fruit depending on the season.
