Welcome to Somnia's third ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: December 1st
- RESERVES: December 12th
- APPS: December 19th - 25th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Brief Info: unlike most of the guys you've probably seen around, retsarra is a resident of solution 9, a futuristic city from another dimension that transplanted itself on top of a portion of the primary world in the game. it's a long story! the important thing here is that solution 9 is a place that uses souls as its primary commodity through the invention of regulators, a fancy little device you put on your head that can revive your body if you die — as long as you have extra souls in the bank. death exists only as an inconvenience, and those who die for good are erased from the collective memory so that nobody has to feel sad about it.

the clear evolution of this system is, of course, professional wrestling.

there's a twist: contestants in the arcadion fuse instead with the souls of dangerous monsters to create epic fursonas that fight to the death, because they'll just come back anyway. retsarra is one of these fighters, the champion of the cruiserweight division under the name howling blade, who uses the soul of the legendary fenrir to become... some type of gundam situation. while he has a lot of complicated feelings about living in a soul-fueled dystopia and eschews the use of his regulator outside of fights, he loves furry deathmatch wrestling too much to give up on the ring because the only time he truly feels alive is when he's fighting. you know, the usual stuff. he's got a whole themesong about it

he's also a bit oblivious and recently got dumped by his girlfriend, but it's okay. they'll make up next patch. probably?

Vessel Type & General ideas: while there is a really obvious offering choice given his goofy wolf transformation shit, i was instead thinking of doing kimera and using aspects of his savage design as inspiration; that form is technically from a fanwork in-universe so anything derived from it will be a Fun and Exciting (tm) twist compared to what he's used to. do you have to feed your dog arm a separate bowl of kibble every night? taking opinions now

he tries... but it didnt work out with his last girl dw nautika will prepare him for next time. we will make him the ideal boyfriend so when he goes home and re-woos his ex then they'll date again and be the perfect couple. he'll become so patient because nautika will have so many breakdowns and he can be like damn nautika all that you have taught me........... rekindled my wavering relationship

omg i'm progging his savage fight right now and now i have the opportunity to prog CR with him too? that's crazy. if retsarra would like to get the hang of fighting without being in his furry gundam form, nicola is always looking for sparring buddies! as a WW1 veteran and former mafia underboss ("former" only because he's dead) from 1925 italy who was surrounded by death literally his entire life even from childhood, i think they could have some very interesting conversations even outside of exchanging fighting techniques 😌

i hope to see him on the tdm!!

i think sparring buddies would be a great way to kickstart things though! i peeked through nicola's backstory/info and i think there's good soup to be made between them — while i think the argument could be made that he's more aware of death than the average s9 citizen given how much he leaves the regulator off, there's a pretty big separation between experiencing it in isolate as a "rare" occurrence and something often impermanent versus the extremely commonplace and very permanent weaponization of it the mafia would employ...

also nicola could probably lie circles around him which is always a funny dynamic to me, lmao

we're still in phase 1 so we're cutting it real close, but even if we don't clear in time i love my static and i'm proud we made it this far so it's fine 🥰 we saw beckon moonlight for the first time last session! also my WoL is just bunboi nicola so in another universe they've already met and are "sparring" every friday and sunday LMAO. we will say hi to him for u (nicola will say hi with his reaper scythe)

yesss and nicola also has his war experience on top of that which he discusses much more openly than his mafia experience for obvious reasons lmao so he's really seen it all when it comes to death.... and he's forever mourning the death of his boss in particular so he'd have so many strong feelings about s9's society but would also lowkey wish he too could have had a regulator with monster souls for vengeful purposes, consequences be damned-

ohh that means you guys are also a lot closer than it might seem though! i think around 80% of our pulls were purely in P1 LMAO and of course the latter part still had a ton of decay memes, all the way til the end... i'm cheering you on for sure

ooh, i haven't even started reviewing phase 2 mechanics yet but if it's easier than phase 1 then that's a relief.... we've got so many phase 1 memes in my static including decay memes LMAO
