Welcome to Somnia's third ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: December 1st
- RESERVES: December 12th
- APPS: December 19th - 25th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Brief Info: Lawful good rich girl police officer who Believes In The System experiences some trauma, gets her morality dragged through the mud, and becomes the figurehead of an alarmingly fascist city-state in the name of vengeance. Caitlyn is a woman who set out to break the cycle of violence between warring city-states, until the cycle broke her. Now, she's killing that idealist part of herself and resorting to extreme measures to keep the peace, all while acting as the puppet of someone using her pain to further their own agendas.

Sometimes you take a breakup really, really hard.

I'm very tentative, but leaning toward playing her during 2.4/2.5, at the peak of her face heel turn. I can see a lot of other arcane peeps here so if the canon point causes some friction or discomfort I'm totally happy to reconsider!

Vessel Type & General ideas: Was hard to find something that was a slam dunk, but I think seraph is fairly fitting? I feel like it appeals to her strong sense of justice and her tendency to lose her footing when things don't go according to plan. Happy to take suggestions tho!

I'm a huge fan of morally rigid characters enduring crises of faith and having to dramatically reshape their world view, so the more I get to do of that... the happier I am. In general, my hope would be to play out a bit more of that inner conflict and the need for control that puts her at odds with others. Tl;dr I ❤️ love ❤️ mess ❤️

I'm hopefully being real!!! It's been a loooong time since I was in a game but one of my friends gave this place a glowing rec so I'm gonna do my best! :) love u jayce, I'd be really looking forward to these two reconnecting!

i'm so absolutely excited!!! i'm right in the middle of a move so things are quite slow for me, but come december i will be SO ready to tag you and give you all the love!! please come!!

jayce is a drake and just recently got his more dragon-ish appearance, so it should be very fun! also, his husband is here. bug. (finally he can tell you about liking BOYS now)

taking caitlyn from that early will be hilarious. my jinx is from the beginning of episode 9 (when she burns down the last drop).

and if vi is here too, she is going be like "you are doing a shitty job for keeping vi out of trouble. never putting you in charge again"

one of the things I feel like Arcane missed on slightly was really driving home jinx and cait being such perfect foils of one another - u know, both vulnerable young women who had their grief twisted by an authority figure who nudged them into doing horrible things to further their own agendas. So I'm really looking forward to trying to find some connection that results in cait maybe not trying to cause bodily harm on sight.

At least after the first few times. Maybe.

gggggggggggood this is going to be so hilarious because while jinx won't know that caitlyn is from a different time frame, she totally called it. this was the last conversation she had with jayce:

Jinx: Tell you what, write up some kind of peace treaty, dot and cross some stuff, and I'll take a look at it. If I like what's written and whatever the conditions are, I'll sign it.

Jayce: You're serious.

Jinx: I'm serious.

Jayce: Alright. I'll write something up with Viktor. You're free to bring your own terms to the table.

Jinx: I can think of two right now. You wanna know what they are? Hmm?

Jayce: As long as I don't regret it.

Jinx: One. If Miss Caitlyn Kirahamms shows up, keep her paws off me. We have a truce, but I'd be stupid to believe she won't take it back.

also this upcoming month, jinx is going to be making this healing antidote (she's a token/aquamancer, and her water/tears/sweat/and saliva can cleanse corruption and heal wounds, poison, and sickness), and then she's going to color dye it purple and call it "shimmer". why is she calling it "shimmer"? simply because it sounds nice.

surely that won't cause an uproar.

Would love to throw my guy at her. Might sound crazy but he’s from? 🤔 a city split in two where the wealthy live on one side of the river? and the other is a bombed out slum? With 0 government representation? 🤔 Also: Ex-Cop who was fired and left for dead by the system. I think they have some stuff to talk about.

No omg, I'd LOVE that. They'd have so much to chat about! I've shamefully only played the first few hours of DE but I'm familiar enough that the idea of smooshing these two together makes me really excited. I look forward to it!

Hello daughter-in-law who he has never met. I do like the parallels that break-ups with this damn family lead to city domination schemes; sorry, Vi learned to be a heart-breaker from him. :)

Cait's dad was drowning his sorrows in tea, obviously. He was not paying attention, but look Vander might/will call her out but like in a dad way. He is used to wrangling some high-strung kids.

God, she can just meet him and hand them to him, but she's added her last name as his and he's just confused.

CAIT!! omg I'm so excited, the thought of our cast tripling in size is a dream!! I, too, love mess and I think bringing Caitlyn from such a pivotal canon point has so much fun potential!

thank you! It's funny, I had my eyes on this game for the past week or so thanks to a friend, and as I was stalking the emp I kept seeing more and more arcane pop up so I was like "WELLLLL I guess this is a sign"

Would definitely love to actually have these two interact as well, I'd love to do the awkward dance of, "oh, you're my friend's friend, nice to see you, yeah I went crazy for a bit there, yeah jayce is really cool, isn't he... *takes a long drink*"
