I wouldn't say that, actually. My adoptive father made the choice for me when he killed them and took me in. I wasn't going to refuse, but if he'd left us alone...

Well, what's the point of speculating? He didn't. At that point, doing whatever it took to survive just looked different ... the basic principle was still the same.
