The internet is this... big global network of information. In some way, it's a little like the Murmur, just not a psychic connection and far easier to navigate. It was kind of everything on Earth. Contained everything. All of human knowledge at our fingertips. And all of human stupidity, too.
You could just as easily find a recent scientific discovery as you could find people arguing whether one pair of tits looked better than another. I cannot overstate how amazing it was, how useful.
