welcome sleepies, to our very first meme saturday! every month a little mod-hosted meme will go up for us to play around with admist the chaos, and this theme was chosen by popular demand! we've all heard about texts from last night, but have you heard of......
MURMURS FROM LAST NIGHT
strange things happen in the night. maybe you drink, or dream, or get high as a kite, and it's hard to hide it! especially when we're all collectively connected in a way! the rules are quite simple! you may even know them by now.
π post a top level for your character and include a few text starters, like the ones provided.
π interact.
π thrive.
π if you wish for your threads to be game canon, the sky is the limit (just make sure your thread partner is okay with it!).
π We might have some special guests later.
no, it's okay! if you weren't ready to tell me then i would never ask you to i could feel it. that was enough for me
[She is insistent upon this. Relationships are give and take. She never wants to take more than she gives, and she won't ask the people she loves for anything she wouldn't give if she were in their position. Kalmiya remembers the time when she was not ready to speak of her feelings to anyone. She remembers refusing to love, running from any and every budding attachment or potential, because she was afraid of what it would mean for her and her newfound freedom.
Kalmiya Longwillow was still such a small, frail existence back then; after everything she did to seize that existence for herself, she was not willing to simply give pieces of it away. She wanted so, so badly to be loved. But she wasn't ready to give, and wasn't able to trust when it was given.
She wraps herself in the returning warmth of Sharon's affection like a blanket, feels the humid flush of it settle over her own skin.]
it's just nice to hear it and nice to know you feel safe telling me β€οΈ so
if you're ready for some excitement, where should i meet you??
[ Kalmiya's insistence, so soft, so gently understanding, makes Sharon's heart swell, the feeling as physical as it is emotional. Giving in to it is hard; how could it possibly be enough, when those words made her feel so vividly alive?
But she does relent. Sharon isn't someone who tramples another person's feelings for her own, not unless it's a matter of life or death, and Kalmiya has always been honest in the simplest, truest way. Like a spring day: warm when the sun is out, cool when clouds pass, never afraid to show exactly what she feels, to wear her emotions like a point of pride.
As if she'd spent so long hiding that she simply couldn't anymore. ]
How about your place? [ There's no chance she's bringing Kalmiya back to the townhouse, and beyond that, Kalmiya's apartment is one of the few places in the city Sharon truly feels safe. Familiar in a way that borders on home, eccentricities and all, because it is unmistakably, entirely Kalmiya. ]
[Well. That's perfectly fine, but she should probably do some cleaning while Sharon makes the trek over...
The thought only intensifies the urgency of her excitement, and honestly, she's grateful to have a reason not to stay still while she awaits her friend's arrival. Stillness is not normally an issue for Kalmiya; she's just found herself mysteriously with an excess of energy in light of this whole development, and getting some of it out ahead of time will be good.]
sounds perfect π then i'll see you soon try not to run into any trouble on the way!!
[The concern in her warning is clear across their brightly lit tether, but it's couched in humor for the sake of not being fussy.]
