Welcome to Somnia's fourth ATP & EMP Meme! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- EVENT/TDM: March 1st
- RESERVES: March 13th
- APPS: March 20th - 26th

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Current players may extend their invites, and if you don't know anyone in the game, the mod will make a decision (note that this does not guarantee an invite). Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either— only to reserve and app.

Canon: Final Space
Brief Info: Lil C is part of a ragtag spaceship crew (the same one as his castmate Ash) who tried to stop an intergalactic dictator, Lord Commander, and the cosmic evils he's aligned with. Team Squad just recently failed to prevent the Big Bad of their canon, an eldritch being called Invictus, from entering their universe, pretty much signaling the start of the apocalypse.

The adopted son Lord Commander's former right hand general, he's a (technically) 14-year-old little alien kitty cat survivor with a big attitude and occasionally a big mouth, who goes through life with a Mountain Dew, no scope 360 sort of energy. After growing up in a military dictatorship, Cato's life has been a trauma congo line - including several years of his childhood spent as the mistreated personal prisoner of Lord Commander - but he's still got a good heart, incredible resilience, and only sometimes has a bloodthirsty desire for revenge.

Firestar Thunderclan here will probably immediately try to source a gun when he shows up because he was heavily trained in both hand to hand and armed combat.


Vessel Type & General ideas:

Vessel: Token: Chronomancer. He was stuck in a pocket dimension alone in a shard of solidified time for 60 years until he went completely insane. (He got better and got de-aged, though he still remembers it.) I have to give him the power that has a risk of stranding you outside time with overuse. He'd be terrified of somehow becoming unhinged from current time but unwilling to leave a power that useful on the table unused.

Also I think it'll be funny to give someone that could easily pass for Lycan were-cat a power unrelated to him being a cat alien kid. No, he's not a Lycan, he's just like that. The cat thing is normal.

Clearly he'll need to invent a secret fistbump for this friendship.

And also drag Megumi into dumb fun.

Megumi badly needs to be dragged into dumb fun, basically all the time.

I would love to see another chronomancer in game, especially one with worries about becoming unstuck in time since my boy is starting wander into that realm. Right now he's reversing his age for short times after power overuse, and I'm planning on ramping up the effects since his king just arrived and he lost someone who he cared about a lot. It's a perfect storm to push him toward more power overuse if there ever was one!

Cato would be giving him cryptic warnings about madness, because he was alone for so many decades he just spent every day hallucinating his crew was there. Full psychotic break.

They can maybe be buddies in practicing the powers or something because if Cato found out someone was at risk of that nightmare he'd want to grab them and sit them down to work on control so they don't go through what he did.

That would be great! Usually, Ignis isn't the reckless sort, but Sleep has been pushing all his buttons lately, so the same recklessness that caused him to lose his vision in canon is running free in his head right now.

Usually, he's the levelheaded one, but right now he needs someone to be levelheaded at him!

You have no idea how well this syncs up bc the episode with the time shard happened because Cato piloted the ship recklessly through a field of time anomalies and he was the one that hit the shard. He jumped in and took the wheel when he should've let one of the adults do it (because he was a good pilot but some of them were better) and then preened about his victory a second too soon.

His own impulsiveness doomed him to those 60 years alone. He got less impulsive after.

This will be such a funny dynamic, the teen boy going like "whoooooa can you cool your jets, or else X might happen to you" bc he happened to get reckless at a younger age and learned from it.

I want this deeply because my character has close CR with Ash and would IMMEDIATELY be super curious about anyone from her home

Also this show just seems so cool? I'd love to see more characters from it generally!

Cato's going to have a hugely complicated relationship with Ash. On the one hand, she wanted to tell him the truth that his "bio" father (Avocato) was not his real dad and actually killed his bio parents. And protect him.

On the other hand, she told him by kidnapping him, dragging him into the lair of the Big Bad that wants to destroy existence, and tried to get him to join them, telling him "It's you and me forever now."

SO YEAH, SUPER INTERESTED in how he might interact with her CR. He still loves her, she's the closest thing he's had to a sibling, but he's been hurt by multiple crew members this point and she's one of them. Because that was crazy and she could've just told him about Avocato, asked him "hey do you want to leave with me?" without taking him to the Big Bad, and he might have said yes.
