Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

Mildly spoilery: Mysterious broody sword-man from Fantasy-France who lives in a world shadowed by a massive Eldritch entity that culls part of the entire population year after year. While everyone else in the world deals with the ramifications of a literal countdown timer on their limited lives, Verso is instead, somehow immortal. He comes with a good helping of Immortal Angst and a big brother complex the size of Mars. He can be gruff but is generally friendly, though he's clearly working towards his own goals at all times. Good luck trying to get him to answer any questions about it, though, he'll evade and dodge and lie without any real hesitation. Mostly a guy trying to do the right thing though. Mostly.

Major Spoilers Under Cut No Really Pls

In reality Verso is only the painted shadow of a man who died in a tragic house fire, his entire world a tragic creation in the grief surrounding it. As one of the few people aware of this reality Verso gets to struggle with the ramifications of what this means for Literally Everything For Everyone but also what it means for him and his family to just be be miserble empty shadows of reality, etc. He wants what's best for his family, but that may come at a terrible cost for his entire world: a cost that he's so far decided that he's willing to pay, no matter how terrible of a person it makes him.

I will also note that I've seen most players from CO take characters from Act 2 ish canonpoints, but I'm immensely tempted to take Verso from post endgame because I love pain.

Vessel Type & General ideas:

I'm most looking to explore Verso's Immense Internal Struggle (TM), so I think I'm leaning Offering with Lycan archetype or Token with the Illusionist archetype, there's interesting options in either direction. I'm still feeling out whether I'd be a good fit here (me or my boy specifically), so I'm happy to hear suggestions and things!!

One of the reasons why I want to consider taking Verso from a later canonpoint if I do wind up here ngl is definitely about how he'd interact with Maelle heh, he'd be so unsure and then go right back to lying without missing a beat I guess

I AM considering Bad Ending for her canonpoint actually! But debating between that and Act 3. Like before their little cat fight lol But I am willing to adapt because I, too, would love to get some fun interactions between them. Invite pending of course haha

Invite pending, etc of course!! But I'm open to whatever ngl I think any incongruence between canon points for Verso especially is fine, he'd be able to roll with it.

(SPOILERS) And just to be extra safe, hiding specifics under this.

How he'd interact with her would definitely be really different pre and post act 3 in general I think, he'd just in general be various forms of unsure about Maellicia depending on excactly where I grab him from. Post endgame of course being the worst for how he'd view her (and obviously waaaay worse if taken from Maelle ending lmao). But that tension would be really interesting to me either way!!

Yessss, excellent. And ya, Maelle ending... But having one of them from that point and the other from just Act 3 could also prove interesting, too. Did you have anything in mind for the tdm specifically? Or is there a specific dynamic you would want to use for testing the test drive? c: I am good with whatever, mildly leaning to pre-catfight.

Verso from a later canonpoint post-Maellicia and some of Maellica's various decisions in general will just be a bit wary of any Maelle he encounters, and if he then realizes its before any of that stuff he'll just lie to her and never tell anyone about what he knows, because lmao. Because he'll just always lie to whoever I think it's genuinely pretty flexible what canonpoint you can take her from, so I'd say go with what your heart wants for her canonpoint rather than worry about a specific TDM dynamic!! I'll toy around a bit between postgame or act-3 post uber-gommage myself, probably, if you had something in mind though.

Looking forward to it either way, and if invite stuff or whatever doesn't work out I'm happy to explore timeline or whatever nonsense with them in PSL land if you'd like!

Verso consistently knowing the plot while everyone else is in loops is horribly fitting. Oky me thinks I'll do Act 3 pre-cat fight, if that gives you a point of where to go for the tdm. I'm sure it'll be fun tdm shenanigans regardless. c:

Not clicking that tag because I'm still in Act II at the Mono, but I'm also shamelessly hitting up all the CO people because I am obsessed and I love them all. I'll definitely be done by the time this game opens though.

I have no idea how Linhardt here would interact with Verso other than asking him 50 billion questions if he learns Verso is immortal. In some ways, he's basically Lune without the maturity or ambition/focus. But you should come play because Verso!

All the RPers I've seen have been really good about hiding spoilers for now and please do preserve your sanctity it will be worth it when you get to the things owo.

Verso sure will try to hide that he's immortal, but hey. He's also generally pretty okay with fielding some questions as long as they don't happen to brush up against things he doesn't want to talk about, so he'd probably tolerate that up to a point?? And then maybe find it a bit annoying, but its fine, Verso deserves it lmao.

Luckily, there are setting specific questions, so Verso can probably steer the interactions. And yes, Linhardt can be annoying about it. Very annoying. Please feel free to tell him this. But even if they don't have much in common, I just wanted to reiterate I love CO and love seeing casts!
