Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

Name: I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella and I have never known defeat
Canon: Elden Ring
Blurp: Malenia is the difficult dex diva of Elden Ring that made a lot of people yell into the void because they couldn’t stop dying to waterfowl and Flower™. She and her twin brother Miquella are the empyrean children of Queen Marika and Lord Radagon. Because their parents are literally the same person, both of them were born afflicted, Miquella with eternal nascence, while Malenia suffers from super space syphilis scarlet rot. Malenia’s affliction is highly infectious, eating away at her body from the inside out. It left her blind and without all but one of her limbs.

But, yanno… She can still beat you up.

Towering at around 8 feet and sporting three unalloyed gold prosthetics and a long katana created by her twin brother Miquella, Malenia is a skilled swordsman and undefeated in the Lands Between. However, she very much does not wish to ascend to full godhood and is constantly fighting the god of rot that would use her as a vessel.

I am planning on pulling her right before she drops her first Flower™ on General Radahn during their battling after The Shattering, in which the demigods received their Great Runes and started fighting each other to ascend to godhood.

Vessel Type & General ideas: While making Malenia a monster (valkyrie or swarmling) would probably be a lot of fun, it doesn’t really align with my plans. Plus, the poor thing is blind and requires prosthetics to get around, so I would probably go with an aquamancer token for her.

A part of her will always feel like she’s still rotting from the inside even though the god of rot can’t reach her here. With water being the antithesis of stagnation, being able to wield it with magic would be a great comfort to her.

My main want from this game is to have Malenia become her own person and find out who she actually is aside from her brother’s sworn protector. As she won’t be rotting to death she’ll be able to make friends and form bonds with people without the fear of afflicting them.

She will absolutely be down for some sparring and drinking buddies, and will need some help maintaining her prosthetics.

Keeping her head against the murmur is going to be a challenge, but she’ll probably think very little of it at first. She fought the god of rot constantly whispering in the back of her head for so long, that anything else will seem pretty trivial in comparison.

Until it isn’t.

Hello, you probably don't remember this but I was the Alfred Bloodborne player from years back, here with Theseus from Supergiant's Hades. Theseus is his own, distinct but related strain of overzealous blond gone wild and I think he would be funny with Malenia too.

I think he would remind of her Radahn, which will give her mixed feelings but not exclusively bad ones. I bet they'd be a hoot!

What sort of vessel is he gonna be?

I would say watch out Malenia but I know she'll be juuust fine. I hope we can play this out!

Miss Malenia......

I love the Aquamancer idea, actually. Water as something healing but potentially something like fetid water and rot... It'd fit her so well. Also, needing to find purpose when your life's sole purpose is taken away is Such a Mood, Lune would totally understand her. Lune can also be a healer in canon and while she won't be able to do that here, she'd still probably offer to help her if she can (depending on what she ends up being lmao)

Ooooh~ Malenia would be forever grateful to anyone wanting to help! Lune would have a loyal friend in return. And yes, they could... definitely have some long girl talks about finding themselves.

Haven't gotten around to playing Clair Obscur, but it's on the list! I've heard it's amazing~

It's quite good! I'm out here protecting everyone from spoilers, though, because it's One of Those Games where you gotta experience it. So I hope you enjoy it once you get time to play it!

Malenia deserves some rest! She's worked so hard!

I would loooove a Melania here 👀 She would definitely have an interesting journey, being away from the rot, and her chosen identity as Miquella's Blade. She'd have to like... make friends?? And connections?? How bizarre for her, but she'd wind up being sooo good at it

Ranni, Malenia, and Trina need to have sisterly bonding time while they're all trying to adapt. It would be great fun.

Ranni at least has had two friends and a consort, so she's a little bit used to this whole friends thing, but still. FromSoft characters largely don't have friends alksdjaskl

Bonding would be adorable 😭 Ranni will have to break the whole "oh yeah I didn't die" news to Malenia, which will be hilarious. She'd also be thrilled to help Malenia with the whole magic thing, being a mage and a scholar herself. An aquamancer would definitely be super interesting for her!

That's so freaking depressing... but so very true.

And oh god, that will be SO hilarious. She'll be pretty happy to know that Ranni didn't actually die. They're going to have a lot of catching up to do. Lots of telling Malenia what happened after she kamikazed Radahn with the aeonia, too. Lots of despair and regret. MAN.

Help with magic would be great, though! More bonding time! I think Malenia would enjoy having Ranni teach her magic. It will definitely be something that she never would have seen herself doing otherwise.
