Β Behold, an opportunity to gather.
Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Name: John Crichton
Canon: Farscape
Blurp: A scientist-astronaut turned reluctant space adventurer after being displaced by a wormhole during a test flight. Hooked up with a bunch of escaped alien prisoners who are now his buds and found family. He's held onto his sanity by a thread spun almost entirely from pop culture references. Empathetic when circumstance allows, willing to do some murder when it doesn't, smart without having all the answers, pragmatic without being ruthless. Can be extremely cagey and distrusting because his trauma has trauma. Will come off totally insane at times in a Bugs Bunny, Riggs from Lethal Weapon kind of way.
Will probably think the panfandom is a simulation meant to break his mind and will at first before realizing it's not because that's just a thing that happens to him sometimes.
Depending on what the mods say, may have a copy of a villain with a leather fetish in his head as the Venom to his Eddie Brock. This pretty much won't effect anything other than making it clear he's talking to someone that's not there, which will surely make it easier to attract friends.
Vessel Type & General ideas:
Vessel Type: Leaning towards Chronomancer or Bloodwright. The former because it allows for manipulating a bit of foundational reality and the ability to do that in another way besides wormholes would be terrifying, given his enemies would love to use him for that if he gets home.
The latter because bleeding out while trying to help people fits his vibe and he's an astrophysicist: he never expected to have blood on his hands.
General Ideas: The man's going to go through so many stages of grief over being lost in dimensions now after being lost in space, starting with him being in denial and probably treating the whole situation like he thinks he's in the Matrix at first. He's had two other instances of being stuck in simulatious meant to gather info or break him. Then when he realizes he's really lost in another dimension he's going to be hysterically devastated.
After that, he'll need to make some friends fast before he winds up writing wormhole equations on the walls. Fortunately, he's good at making friends and is a good emotional support human. John is a very social animal, generally empathetic to others, forgiving (to a point), and extremely good at accepting alien and weird. Somehow manages to be a good moral compass to others even when he wants to shove a enemy's face in acid. While he might be cagey at first, if someone earns his trust, he's incredibly ride or die.
Looking to have him make friends and found family, enemies (he's good at making those), and frenemies (also good at those too). Would love for him to have to deal with more people willing to mess with his brain. Probably no shipping beyond anything casual, though, as he's down bad for a castmate.

Canon: Final Space
Blurp: Lil C is from a rough and tumble sci-fi future, part of a ragtag crew of criminals, outcasts, and oddballs, who have been drawn together against an evil interplanetary dictator, Lord Commander, and the cosmic evils he's allied with.
He's a 15-year-old (technically) little alien kitty cat survivor with a big heart, big attitude, and sometimes a big mouth. Somehow full of murder and kindness and gentleness - which is a testament to his resilience, as he grew up in a dictatorship and was imprisoned and abused for three years by an evil dictator. Cato's life has been a trauma congo line but he's still got a pure heart, and only sometimes has a bloodthirsty desire for revenge.
Vessel Type & General ideas:
Vessel Type: Leaning towards Chronomancer or Lycan. The former would freak him the hell out because he spent 60 years in frozen time shard once and was alone for so long he went insane. (When the time shard broke, he de-aged and got better.) He'd be terrified of somehow becoming unhinged from current time.
But Lycan may be an option because his species doesn't actually go full animalistic. They can be agile and bitey but are evolved and sentient so it'd definitely be a devolution and aggression he'd have to cope with. And that's on top of the normal types of aggression you get when people have tormented you and situations sometimes make Kill Bill sirens go off in your head.
General Ideas: Cato would definitely be in need of some friends and emotional support and possibly older people as mentors but he is also fortunately a tremendous asset to have around. He's an extremely talented and acrobatic fighter, with both guns and hand to hand (though his size can stymie the latter.) While he can be a little feisty and impetuous at times, he's still usually very clear-headed in a conflict, either good at following and executing a plan or at developing his own tactics when needed.
And he's very kind and accepting if people are kind to him. He's used to associating with all kinds of criminal so if someone has a shady background they can still possibly find a friend in the little guy. He's tremendously resilient and able to extend that to be reliable to others.
That said, he can also be petty if someone gets on his bad side, so rivals or frenemies would be fun too.
