Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

You ever find out you're the good half of a girl that was burned alive decades ago by a cult, and the only way to save your dad is to accept the darker part of yourself or die? Yeah, and people think high school is rough.

Sharon has spent the last near decade running from a cult that wanted to drag her back to a ghost town to birth a god. She craves friendship and normalcy (though let’s be real, she’s more likely to get the former here, whoops). She's snarky with deep-seated trust issues. But she's also kind, loyal, and won't leave someone to die without trying to help first.

As I want to take her from just after merging with the other half of her soul, Sharon would be coming in struggling with her identity, and would likely adopt another alias as she tries to come to terms with where she is, and who she is (along with some worry about who else from her world might have been taken).

Vessel Type & General ideas:

I'm leaning Token (for now), and will be aiming for Pyromancer, Shadowbinder, or Necromancer. Pyromancer might be a bit too on the nose given her past, but she'd hate it.

I want to explore her as she comes to terms with who she is and the horrors she's committed in the name of revenge. She's going to really struggle with the fact that she hasn't rescued her dad yet, while simultaneously recognizing that she was willing to let him die. There's a lot of good shit to explore within her character!

No spoilers but Season 2 was fantastic but that's just my opinion, haha.

I'm not overly familiar with the Silent Hill movies but I've been a fan of the games for ages. Sharon is a great choice to explore!

I've only heard good things! Plus I saw they brought Drolta back and that makes me one happy camper. Her character designs were just too cool.

The movies are wildly different than the games. The first one is genuinely great as long as you're willing to accept that it's its own thing, and the second one is just good-bad sequel slop. But yeah she'll be fun to explore in a game like this! I'll toss her at your Maria on the TDM when it goes up!

Godddd I have no idea how they'll get along but I know I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. DC really got the best version of Sharon because her mom was there when she arrived so she didn't feel the need to be as wary and closed off.

I am painfully canonblind, but I can see Sharon attaching to someone like Sunny. She knows what it's like to grow up afraid, and she's been that jumpy, timid kid!

cr like that is great for sunny! he's definitely a "little brother" archetype character and he is just! kind of a vulnerable dude in general, so it's great to have that kind of cr around

Okay they might not be psychic friends buuut they may get along? Fellow victims of cults, people lying to protect them (which only makes things worse), finding out you're kind of a god

struggling with trying to figure out who you are after unleashing some shit

and also just really wanting to be normal and have friends. maybe they could be friends?

Just two girlies victimized by cults and lied to their whole lives! Talk relatable! Plus, struggling to come to terms with what they've done and the immense powers they have (or had, in this case)! This could be really interesting CR for sure!

Better yet Nadya can be sassy but she's also an eternal optimist that falls for people's bullshit because she wants to see the best and is slightly naive so they could play off each other really well! Two different personality types coming out of a similar situation

Hey, I'm pretty sure we had both these characters in Deer Country forever ago! I loved the little Silent Hill cast we had there, glad to see Sharon again!

i'm personally team 'do it cause they'd hate it'. you should definitely make her a pyromancer, haha

god yes. horror characters in general have so much to work with esp in games like this! sam's a great choice, too!

honestly me too! i like them to suffer and hate everything sometimes. luckily for me, she'll hate every option i want to make her!

and yeah, they really do. i love getting to yeet horror game characters into other settings, horror related or not. and thank you! i figured he'd fair well enough in a place like this, haha

I probs won't bring him from the canonpoint of being a dad yet but Crichton is at the phase of his life where he's about to be one, and basically had to leave a child behind on a planet because the princess that conceived his kid was going to be stuck as a statue for 80 years. (Long story.)

He knows the man she married is going to be a good father to his child but has huge regrets, because being frozen with them wasn't even a choice (it'd have killed him.) He was instantly ready to be frozen with them, though.

As someone already deeply traumatized by his canon he'd be hugely sympathetic to her trauma, and definitely could bring some protective dad figure found family vibes, with an angle of looking out for her so she can get back to her dad.

Cato comes from a pretty nightmare canon and is going through his own identity issues. Normalcy isn't really something he can provide what with being a cat alien teenager, but he's really ride or die friend who's sincere enough to never risk burning through anyone's trust.

He'd also understand struggling with complicated feelings about a parent and feelings of revenge and identity. He found out he's not who he thinks (secretly royalty), found out his dad isn't his dad (he killed his bio parents but spared and adopted him), and at one point wanted to dance in the blood of the guy who imprisoned and abused him (and killed his father).

He'd be a really gentle friend because of it.
