Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

Viktor is a scientist focused primarily on mechanical engineering and MAGIC BABY!! His ambition for progress is fueled by growing up "on the wrong side of the tracks" so to speak, where pollution and poverty caused himself and others to develop illnesses or birth defects. He's selfishly motivated by his own need to prolong his life, but it comes with a big helping of wanting to extend the benefits of his research to others in need.

SEASON TWO SPOILERS: After he's forced to become One with his magical rubix cube, he gets very in touch with the arcane and magic but also loses a lot of his humanity. I'm planning to take him from the end of the series when he's woken up to some of the horrors he's created, like turning people into robots... with good intention!!! But he's got a lot of trauma to process, a lot of issues trusting himself, a lot of weirdness going on with his body, and a bunch of other juicy things to explore!

Vessel Type & General ideas:

THERE ARE MANY COOL OPTIONS but I'm leaning the most heavily towards a runecaster Token because well iykyk 👀 A big chunk of Viktor's life and scientific research has revolved around runes and figuring out how to combine them to achieve different effects, so it would be perfect for him AND I also have some fun ideas about how use over time will change his appearance. I think an artificer would also suit him, but idk man I'm so drawn to the runes! (pun intended)

Runecaster is absolutely fantastic for Viktor! As is Artificer, I don't think you could go wrong on either choice. Either way, I would love for him to work alongside the Doll, since she'll be an Artificer... the whole game going to wonder why the supporter mage skillset is drawing in the people with czech-accents. Two nickels, weird it could happen twice situation.

Oh my gosh, I would LOVE to have them interact!! I'm a big Bloodborne fan and I think that the Doll would offer such interesting possibilities with her wealth of knowledge, and accent that reminds him of home, and just general living-doll-existence reminding him (a little painfully) of certain things.

The Doll is so, SO Orianna coded it's crazy. I do imagine she'll end up falling into an Assistant role to any strong willed researcher types like Viktor (Jayce and Lune catch my eye for that from her, too). Would be just lovely to build a character journey for her of CR inspiring her towards even a scrap of self possession. All she knows for purpose is caring for others.

SHE IS!! I'm not sure if Viktor would have ever seen her, but eh we do what we want within reason LOL. That would be such a lovely arc for sure, and maybe Viktor can help inspire her to become her own person! Self agency is important, don't let people use you, etc etc

omg viktor as a runecaster is so... i can only imagine how he would FEEL about it, especially depending on the canon point you pull him from. EXCITED to see what he gets up to and how his rune use will affect his appearance!

Hey! I'm down with Jinx figuring it out, she's a smart cookie. She knows that Viktor was in his mind trying to help him out before the fire nation attacked, so if she's seeing what's happened to everyone else that's been touched... yeah, it stands to reason she'd figure it out! Also it makes for more delicious drama and forcing Viktor to face the consequences of his actions :)

She should definitely take her anger out on him. He will welcome it because he deserves it. And then Jayce will probably come protect him and it will be a big dramatic fun mess!

I would like Crichton to collect other scientific-minded traumatized guys, because he would very much like bros. Also he'd genuinely understand the concept of science gone wrong.

He just wanted to advance space travel as an optimistic scientist but during his adventures he got the science of how to make wormholes in his head and now everyone wants the knowledge to cause destruction. He's afraid he's going to Space Oppenheimer his way into ending civilizations.

He'd have a lot of sympathy for someone who started an idealistic scientist trying to do good who had it all go wrong.

Doing the rounds and figured I'd say hi on the CORRECT account after yesterday's meetcute and check out your guy LMAO!

So I would love to do something with these two - I know absolutely nothing about the series so I can't weigh in on token choice, but from your blurb he sounds like the type of character I fw and I can definitely see Freddie (a very technically minded pilot with a major in physics) really enjoying talking to him and hearing what he has to say!

Also, also, I love characters who are Reckoning with past actions and starting to process them, and Freddie is in a similar situation/would be able to relate to some degree if it somehow came up because he just got out of the US military echo chamber (where he deployed to the Middle East three times as a combatant) after 10 years straight and is starting to really process that now that he's in a safe place to do so and not still in an environment where lifting rocks vis-a-vis his moral feelings on things like fringe casualties and US intervention wouldn't just bring him distress in a situation he legally cannot get out of without going to jail. Similar to Victor, the things he did were borne out of a passion - in this case, he just really loved to fly and this gave him an opportunity to do so, not engineering, but I see parallels!

Will be sniffing around the TDM this weekend and if you have a TL I'd love to tag it! I have a jotlist of content warnings here just in case (and if anything's a dealbreaker I have other blorboes I could throw at him bc your guy just seems Neat) but yeah lmk!!

I'm also not doing a top level on the TDM because of my unfortunately busy schedule this month ;; BUT if there are other opportunities to interact, definitely hit me up

Thank you for being upfront! It's a part of his canonpoint at time of entry ingame but I have a recovery arc planned for him that's going to be sort of kicked off by being put in a new setting, so later in the year those themes will definitely be avoidable! Once that is the case, if you'd still be interested, I'll hit you up bc Viktor seems like he'd be very interesting to thread against!
