  Behold, an opportunity to gather.

Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

Canon: Final Space
Blurp: Ash is from the space dramedy Final Space. She was born into a space cult, and only managed to escape moments before being sacrificed to it's snake god. She is then picked up and adopted by conman Clarence, only to eventually become a crew member of the Crimson Light on a journey to Final Space to fight the galactic Titans and their master Invictus. At least until she learns darker secrets about herself.

Ash comes with a fair bit of baggage, most of her choices have led to someone dying or some other form of tragedy. But she manages to balance the angst and anger with friendly dose of comedic cynicism and whimsy.

Vessel Type & General ideas: Generally thinking of going Token and Shadowbinder. Ash's normal powers are something similar to this and I'd like to play around with those themes.

poor ash... can't believe she escaped being a sacrifice to a snake god just to get swept up by another god out to make her life worse. excited to see how she takes to Sleep's realm!

You know. If she had a nickel for every time she got entangled with gods or eldritch beings trying to make her life worse. She'd actually have three nickels.

Will she escape this one, or end up getting jerked around into helping it? Only time will tell!

i can't tell if i'm rooting for her escape or assistance but i WILL be locked in on finding out... let's go, ash! weaponise those nickels!

Seriously, though, considering bringing him in now, but if I did it'd likely be at the big "OH SHIT" moment on the s3 finale, which might make things tough. (But he'd be dead set on trying to push Ash back from the edge, whether she's toppled over it yet or not.)

What canon point are you considering?

YOU WILL LEARN TO LOVE IT!

Oh. I was definitely thinking of Season 3 finale with her as well. From the interviews and previews from the graphic novel it seems like there is a clear direction where her arc was headed that I’d be looking to explore.

Look sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, dig a hole and wind up somewhere even worse before you can start to get better.

Ash would be very resistant to getting pulled back, but the goal would be for her to eventually work toward it.

Of all people that could, Cato's probs one of the best candidates to take her by the hand with his little piddy paw to try to help her there.

I'd love to play that out, them dealing with how broken it got and trying to figure out how to fix it.

Also the game world looks turbo fucked. They're used to fighting back to back but it's a great way to get them even closer since they wouldn't have other crew to help them this time - they'd each have to adopt some first.

What’s a little kidnapping, and trying to murder his dads between pals? Little Cato is too pure, and good for this world.

I’d 100% be down for this. Ash I’m pretty sure will be super conflicted in a three way mix of “What have I done?”, “I was totally justified.”, and “Welp, gone too far to go back now.” But she’ll figure it out along the way.

They both have dealt with their own forms of absolutely messed up trauma. Sometimes you have to pile a little bit more on top of that.
