Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

a flippant intergalactic criminal who likes collecting coats. ex-devil hunter who claims to not know what fear is. in pursuit of her desired reality, she joined a radical group whose goal seems to be...

spoiler alert mayhaps

slaying the gods of their universe. so you can guess how she will eventually approach this universe once she has her bearings.

Vessel Type & General ideas:

playing with the idea of making her a token! canonically she is big on language and using it to manipulate others; even her ability, spirit whisper, seems to work as some sort of hypnosis as she has said she simply says what people wish to hear.

this + her notions of beauty and her interest in decisions vs fate make me consider lightweaver, illusionist, or bloodwright for her. all three draw on her canonical abilities BUT nerf her enough to force her to approach alliances from a new angle. (namely less "this is fated but if you can defy fate i will be impressed" and more "haha link up with me i'm not interested in DYING").

this will be doubly fun because in general her relationships seem to focus on transaction and shared goals (according to her). to be forced to make connections to survive, the exact opposite of what she had to do to survive on her home planet, will be super fun to explore for ME and probably make her as miserable as she will be morbidly intrigued by her ordeal.

alternatively, being a swarmling offering would be interesting because of her spider motifs. she would definitely hate it a lot more than being a token LMAO. i think it would make her more keen on forming bonds but i need to think about it more...

i'm also considering death note's misa amane as an offering! (she would hate it, poor girl.)

maybe seraph on account of all the weaknesses + "bound to 'missions' they no longer understand" with how much she's given up her memories and lifespan all while knowing she is simply allowing herself to be used because she wants to be loved... yeah...

i would love to explore her obsession and willingness to be used and maybe have her grapple with that self-assigned purpose being stripped from her on account of being... in a whole other realm LMAO.

i'm totally new around these parts but i looove sleep token and i'm so entranced by the premise of somnia. super excited for the tdm and to write with everyone on it!

She and Ranni would have a lot to talk about, what with their missions to do exactly the same thing in their own universes, and also their connections being generally mission-based.

Having Kafka have to find a whole new purpose away from Elio would be fascinating, too!

that would be so FUN, and dare i suggest that all that conversation could... possibly... eventually... open a path to a connection that is not mission-based but instead based in simple interest? (at least on kafka's end) gasps

and it really will be! depending on her and ranni's conversations, and ranni's gently shakespearean manner, she might even get inspired... to transplant her mission to this realm, i can't even pretend she'll do anything else. but still!

Ranni would be SUPER interested in Kafka, not just because of the whole shared goal thing, but because she likes fiercely intelligent people who are willing to fight for their ideas. Also, once she hears about spaceships and stuff, she'll be fascinated lmao

I'm not sure if Ranni will be all gung-ho godkiller here, it sort of depends on her experiences, how Sleep presents itself, but she'll definitely protest being trapped. Maybe that also means transplanting her mission to this realm too 🫡

I am not canon-familiar, but based on your description, our characters have a lot in common and I would be excited to see how they get along :>
