  Behold, an opportunity to gather.

Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

Sunny is a fearful and frightful 16-year-old boy who hasn't left his house in about four years. Grief and trauma have caused him to become a recluse who spends most of his time sleeping, where he gives over to a boy called Omori and traverses a vast and strange dreamscape. Very apropos of a setting like this! I don't want to give everything away yet, but tl;dr: he is very timid, very jumpy, and very [static noises]. Also, he is a silent/nearly-silent protagonist, which I'm going to try to play as faithfully as I can, so there may be some communication barriers to work around as we thread. >:3b

Also, for those who are familiar with the game, he will likely either be coming from a pre-lightbulb canon point, or a post-bad end canon point of some variation.

ONE MORE NOTE!!! I use this journal to play both Sunny and Omori, but they are two entirely different characters, and I only plan on playing Sunny if I were to play here.

Vessel Type & General ideas: I am VERY torn on whether or not to make him a token or an offering. BOTH SUIT HIM FOR VARIOUS REASONS. He definitely has an "I'm a monster" complex, which is fun to explore, but he also would be suited to a more mage-like role with his video game protag energy (both in a meta sense, and just the way he views himself). If I do go with a token, he will definitely be an illusionist (liar class, secret-keeper class...it's honestly perfect). I'm going to think very hard about it if I decide to post on the tdm.

I don't have a ton of specific plans yet. I'm really a "see what happens" type of RPer, so I hope to explore dynamics of the game once I'm able to dive into threading!

ohh I'm glad!!! his whole thing is dreams and/or hallucinations, so I think its very fitting, and also a lot of the somnia-specific illusionist details just fit his character so scary well LOL

I play a lot of omori characters, and would also lowkey consider kel if I weren't feeling so dead set on having sunny in a game

Theseus is regrettably in the quirky NPC territory (both in his canon and if he encountered Sunny) but Omori was super cool and I'll definitely try to make it work if you tag :)

OOOH SWEET!!! sunny (especially depending on canon point) does tend to classify people as like "npc" "boss" "party member" etc., so it'll be funny if that's what he classifies him as

I don't know anything about Hades but Theseus sounds absolutely hilarious

he's incredibly friend shaped! and small! i will throw this sad wet man at you, jayce has HUGE big brother energy when he warms up! trauma has made him a bit stiffer with strangers but i have a feeling it'll be easier with children!

sunny is 16 so not quite a little guy, but still just a kid for sure! and he's definitely a "little brother" type of character

The Operator can indeed be a holy terror lol. But usually they're just a lil spooky unless something sets them off ;)
