Welcome to Somnia's first EMP! This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

Dates to note are as follows:

- TDM: June 7th
- RESERVES: June 21st
- APPS: June 22nd - 26th
- GAME START: July 1st

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Just like our EMP, you do not need an invite to participate in the TDM, either (only to reserve and app). Mod-run invites will also be available then, so I thank you kindly for your patience!

The debut of Voidsent in FFXIV began as your average "invading demonic force" fantasy fare, but in more recent years we've learned that they never sought to be nefarious. A calamity in their dimension caused all aether to become unbalanced, including that of the soul, resulting in the mutation of all living things. This occurred thousands upon thousands of years ago, and during that time the Voidsent have essentially been trapped, forced to cannibalize each other's magical essence due to 1) the lack of any other resources within their realm and 2) the fact they are unable to die. Naturally, most of them have long succumbed to a loss of sanity.

For reasons, Zero is a rare exception to this, though her memory has suffered to the point of forgetting what an apple is, or that food was once upon a time more typically consumed by mouth. Trust is not a concept in what's left of voidsent society, and so Zero's relationships with others are purely transactional. She demands payment for anything involving lifting a finger for another—or half-heartedly insists upon one, just to make it make sense... as dealing with honest, kind individuals with their humanity intact has brought about inner turmoil she's struggling to understand.

Vessel Type & General ideas:

GOLEM. She could make her arm a big 'ol rock scythe, and be embedded with purple crystals a la Memoria. Daemon or Kimera would also do nicely.

I'm completely canon blind but I still want you to TDM this character because that character design is so 👀👀👀👀 Also she sounds super interesting!

pardon my lack of account for her; i'm still gathering icon material YEAH, she has huge Could Literally Be A Character From Bloodborne energies. Witness her non-human form.

Speaking of, I'm excited for all the FromSofts turning up & seeing how they interact in this setting specifically. It's kind of perfect for them!

oh my god she DOES have extreme bloodborne energy lmao. Her regular design and her non-human form are both soooo FromSoft, I love it

I'm still canon reviewing atm but I think The Major and Zero would have ungodly fascinating CR. The distance from humanity...the killer black outfits...
