Name: Kal
Contact: PM is best!
α CHARACTER
Name: Lune
Canon: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Blurp: The non-spoilery version - Imagine that every year, a giant entity known as 'The Paintress' emerged and carved a number on a monolith far off in the distance from your home. And every time this number changed, anyone who was that number or older suddenly died and disappeared in a riot of petals. Welp, that's E33 for you. In Lumière, this happens every year, and the countdown grows ever closer to unsustainable. The number just turned 33. Every year, right after this event of death (called the Gommage), an expedition sets out to try to stop The Paintress, and up until now...no one's succeeded.
Lune is part of Expedition 33, as its resident researcher. She's a mage with a talent for the elemental and is pretty damn powerful. Trying to stop The Paintress has been her life's purpose and work, molded by her researcher parents, and she is dedicated to this mission above all else. She's a bit cold on the outside at times, doggedly determined to see things through, and is one of those folks who has plan after plan, contingency after contingency, all to try to make this work. She spirals when things go poorly, she has high walls to keep people out of her heart, and carries the weight of expectation on her shoulders. She's fascinated by folklore and learning, shows more emotion than you'd think, and while she's slow to warm to people...she's genuinely an overall caring person, she just shows it in different ways.
Vessel Type & General ideas: Lune would be a Token, as she's already a magic user and a caster.
My top choices would be: Runecaster or Lightweaver, but I would be super open to exploring Bloodwright or Beastkin (Lune's original concept design used spectral animals!) as well, because I like doing darker things.

AND THE DOLL. also would be so good in this game, especially as an Artificer!

If Lune starts trying to research into the inner workings of the place, I feel like the Doll would make for the ideal assistant for her. To a disturbing degree, as is the Bloodborne way.
no subject
Oh, she's gonna be all over the researching. She needs to know EVERYTHING. It would be so cute (to me, at least) to have the Doll work with her...

Also while I'm unfamiliar with the Fallout show, I think your idea to have him be an Artificer makes perfect sense. Especially if he can craft specifically made ammunition/supplies tailored to people and himself.
no subject
Yeah in his universe it's hard to make it if you can't handle a lot of your own shit. Being able to upkeep his guns and what not is important, this will just be fancy new way of doing all that~ Now if he'll be nice and help others is another thing haha, if it benefits him maybe.
no subject
Also I think runecaster makes sense for her but blood would be way more interesting for her to deal with and work through, maybe?
no subject
SEE, that's what I was thinking. Blood would be really interesting because it's darker, it turns into a moral quandary, etc etc. Since the app has you pick 3 and the mods choose, I'm genuinely going to tell the mods if they want to give me a random thing if there's too many of one type (assuming I get an invite ofc), I'm down for it. Bc she'd be a good Aeromancer, I could do Shadowbinder, I'm really open to all of the things.

I'd say only propose the fun ones. If not morally questionable then what are we doing tbh. And yeeees, pending invites.
no subject
This is also true. So probably Runes, Light, or Blood as my top choices and tell the mods I'm down for whatever if I get the opportunity. c:

These are good plans!! Idk Maelle's backups. I can't imagine her not setting everything on fire figuratively and literally, hahah.

Anyway, my love for E:33 aside, I think that she and Linhardt might get along? He's also an obsessive learning type with an interest in folklore, magic, and learning, although he's much less focused than Lune and is primarily acting out of sheer interest in learning for its own sake. He might admire her, which is a rare emotion for him to feel.
I need to hurry up and finish!

I'm passingly sort of familiar-ish with FE3H (I'm actually trying to get a copy to play because of someone else I've been threading with) and I absolutely can see the two of them working well together. She really appreciates people who value The Work. I haven't decided on a canon point yet for her so it may determine how she...handles things here and being away from home. I saw you're also considering Runecaster!

I have a cart if you get really desperate and take mail from strangers. I don't think I'll ever fully replay it again and I like for things to get used/enjoyed rather than stay in a box. It's not as good as E:33 (I mean, high bar) and has some weaknesses, but it's an enjoyable game and the cast is huge.
But yeah, Linhardt is one of the token scholar/nerds and he canonically has an interest in weird old structures, sigils, legends and weird history, etc. Plus magical theory. And while he hides it, one of the reasons he's so averse to responsibility is he worries about making mistakes/being listened to and it hurting people. Given how the game starts...I feel like Lune might understand that. :|
Also they could compare their magical systems and contrast them to this world's magical system! And be nerds. Neeerds. He's as bad as Lune is with the invasive sudden questions too.

me @ myself: do not pick up another character, do not do it
Anyway, I would absolutely love that kind of CR. MORE NERDS. And hilariously being able to understand each other like, yeah, why would we NOT be asking invasive questions? What would be the point otherwise? Some people just don't understand it :V

I'm also fighting the character bug: Sciel's become kind of a dark horse for me after the end of Act II. So I feel you on the 'no, not another one!' talk. Especially because I'm usually a one at a time type!
End of Act II talk for E33
I really vibe with the 'rediscovering hope after what you think was putting something tragic to bed/coming to live with it' aspect of her character and it's not something that I see in many characters to boot.
Also...Lune being all 'wait there's a whole other world I won't get to see?' makes putting her in games = chef's kiss. That sounds so fun! And here I was worried the twist was going to make every banal, but instead the world building just got weirder and I am here for it.
NERDS. ALL THE NERDS. Like just ping ponging invasive questions and requests out of curiosity. Any time they spend in small talk is time they aren't spending discovering the secrets of the universe. Waste of time!

Sciel is SO GOOD, I love her... I pick her up in my hands and cradle her, she deserves the world. All of the characters in CO are so very good and nuanced and interesting. I have been rotating this game in my brain for weeks now and need to do a second playthrough soon.
And YES, you see what I'm putting down. I think end of Act 2 allows for a lot of interesting stuff to happen. I always want to be mindful of how a character comes into a game and if they're gonna spend the entire time railing to go home or if there's flexibility in them diving into the world they're in, etc. So that context will really let her open up into the setting and allow herself that leeway of discovery... Get involved in things, meet people, know the secrets of the universe! (And then, you know, take that info back home and deal with it.)

I love me some Sciel but those reasons are why she would be hard to play in a game setting, I think. She'd be so pissed. And have like...zero interest in the people around her, honestly. Valid, but alas. Whereas Linhardt is more like Lune in that he can roll with it and get into some really interesting situations depending on the way things develop.

But I'm excited for the TDM and to see how things roll out!

Same! *makes grabby TDM hands*
