This is the place to be if you're interested in the game's setting, if you're unsure about who you'd like to bring or if you just want to check out the vibes. Remember that the EMP is open to all, and you don't need an invite to participate in the slightest!

An opportunity for players who do not have invites to post their interest in receiving one will be available on the TDM as a mod comment to reply to. Brief Info: Six months ago, Hikaru Indou disappeared in the mountains for a week. Something came back... but it wasn't him. The "something" inhabiting Hikaru's body talks like him, acts like him, and is almost a perfect copy, but isn't him. This mysterious supernatural being starts its new, unfamiliar life with only one person, Hikaru's best friend, aware of what he really is. Being a person is entirely new to him, as he's never been anyone before now, and it turns out it's really hard having to wrap your newly-acquired brain around human morality overnight! (Note: the anime adaption is still airing as of the time I'm writing this, but it'll be over by the end of September! And if I do join, I'll have an opt-out post for anyone who wants to avoid manga spoilers from later in the story. Currently thinking about Chapter 37 as his canon point)
Vessel Type & General ideas: Tokens, and specifically mages that would mesh well with what his powers are in canon. Leaning towards Bloodwright, Necromancer or Illusionist!

Aside from that, 'Hikaru' is a new muse for me, so I'm mostly just eager for the chance to play him more! I'm especially interested in seeing how he might adapt to a world where he doesn't have to hide what he is quite so closely - but is also disconnected from the world/purpose he's come to internalize for himself. Not only is the world all very new to him - he has all of the original Hikaru's memories, but when he experiences things, he's experiencing them for the first time himself - but being a person itself is still fairly new to him. What will happen, I wonder, when he's set loose in a new place? :')

MAN. I keep meaning to watch this show (or read it). I need to sit down and do it already. How is the anime doing so far sticking to the manga?

ANYWAY. I'm excited! I know a little bit about the character by the sheer fact that the series is all over my twitter feed right now and my friends keep talking about it lol

I would love to toss Till at him! As well as Tsukasa (who I plan to app next). Both are idol boys! One's a pet human from a place where aliens took over and enjoy making their pets participate in deadly singing competitions.

The other talks like he's lived through many battles and wars, but he's just a Good Boy in a weird game with many problematic senpais. He's the 'king' of his unit and would happily rule the world if he could get away with it. But really he's just a proper boy from a strict background, navigating his youth and the idol world at the same time.

Welt wants in on the adventuring so much that he and his light cone have bombed me the most out of everyone in Star Rail, but I still love our Astral Express Dad!

I play Sirius, he's an OC whose magic has the potential to tear apart the fabric of the world, but he's also friendly! It could be interesting to have him meet someone with similarly dangerous powers.

Brief Info: did you happen to miss and/or block out this canon's existence? i am here to take yall back in time to much a simpler era. get in the car bitch we are going back to 2012..

dirk is from a ridiculous webcomic called homestuck, where kids try to save their universe over and over from an impending apocalypse involving a game. dirk is from the future in a flooded texas that has been taken over by an alien tyrant, as one of the last humans left in existence. the guy basically raised himself, and in his spare time prior to his game session, he makes robots, practices sword fighting, practices sweet raps, draws, etc. he's been known to be rather overbearing and controlling once he enters his session and has human interaction, but early on in the series, it's with good intentions. he likes anime, puppets, irony..

i am considering taking him from an earlier canon point, maybe even prior to entering his game session.

Brief Info: so there’s this cool kid right? problem is, his idea of ‘cool’ was barely that even in 2009 so we’re taking a moonwalk back to the past in this our lord’s year of 2025 to bring you an insufferable prick of dubious repute.

back in yonder day there was a webcomic called Homestuck and it got in its readers’ collective craw on the regular. in this comic, four little fellas comprised the main opening cast and dave just happens to be one of them. dave is from earth before it was sadly destroyed in 2009 by a) meteors and b) a dog, and the shenanigans that lead up to these 4 heroes busting free to safety is just part of all the nonsense everyone gets up to. through said shenanigans, dave ends up with the vaunted title of Knight Of Time, which allows him to manipulate the cloth of the timeline like some kinda tailor in an effort to keep his and his friends’ derrières alive long enough to do the big important things they needed to do to save their collective bacon.

it’s a lot.

when he’s not being a big damn doomed hero dave is an Artiste of many mediums: webcomics, music, photography, and slam poetry being but a few of the honoured topics hes dabbled about in.

in terms of timeline i am looking at somewhere post timeskip and definitely well before the epilogue, where his troubles are boiling at their best. because what is rp for if not to wring your favourite lil dudes like wet rags?

Brief Info: Ex-military bounty hunter and single dad! He's also a cat dude. Avocato is grumpy, determined, focused, and loyal. He has a terrible temper, a dark past, and uses 'baby' like it's punctuation. He's also surprisingly easy to talk into moments of whimsy! I'd be pulling him from the end of season 3, so he'd be coming from one of those situations that's so stressful that the DWRP horror jamjar is a relief in comparison.

Vessel Type & General ideas: Honestly, I don't think there's any better choice for him than Artificer! But I might also do Beastkin since it's funny for the cat man to be able to summon more cats.

I don't have any immediate plot ideas for him, except that I'm pretty sure I want him to wake up in the Manhattan Costco Wholesale.

Brief Info: Flea-bitten doglord escapes a blight ravaging his homeland, becoming a hero against his will. Unapologetic apostate, disinclined altruist, Champion of Kirkwall. Heroism is not an aspiration, it is a gauntlet. His attempts at saving his family and friends from one tragedy only leads to more and more, culminating in (inadvertently) lighting the powder keg that kicks off the Mage-Templar War.

Pain. Just lots of pain. Smiling through it all!

Considering taking him from Inquisition after Here Lies the Abyss. Getting stuck in the Fade makes the perfect segue to being isekai'd.

Canon: Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy
Brief Info:
Darumi is one of a group of teenagers recruited to retake the Earth from a group known as Invaders. To this end, Darumi and the rest of the team are equipped with the ability to manipulate a blood-like substance known as Hemoanima, which can be formed into a weapon unique to each character. In Darumi's case, she wields a set of knives that she manipulates to attack enemies.

As a person, Darumi is a shit head, to say the least. She is obnoxious, rude, often inappropriate, and generally aggravating to be around. But, for the most part, this is a facade she uses to keep others at arm's length. Darumi was forced to grow up early, as her parental situation was not ideal, and she was compelled to work various unsavory jobs to keep her family together. Being beaten down by the world and her terrible luck, it became ingrained in Darumi that if she took on all the ills and evils of her friends, she'd be doing them something of a service. By keeping them just far enough away to avoid accidentally showing her real personality.

Who Darumi actually is...well, she's still obnoxious, but she is also a sweet and loyal almost to a fault. She would do anything for her friends, and often does. Leaping into dangerous situations without any real thought for her own safety. She's also a connoisseur of retro visual novels and erogames and wants to write her own someday.

bloodwright seems fitting given her canon powers blood-basis, that and the general theming match perfectly with Darumi's edgelord persona.

Canon: Jujutsu Kaisen
Brief Info: A regular teenage boy who one finds out the hard way that curses are real, are birthed from human resentment, and they take on monstrous forms to prey on humanity. And then...he eats the finger of one of the most powerful curses in existence and finds out he's one of a select few with the power to contain said curse. Y'know, shonen things.

Yuji is friendly and fairly outgoing. He attaches to people quickly and has a seemingly unending supply of warmth and care for others. He takes it extremely personally if someone is hurt because of his actions or because he couldn't help them in time. He also has like zero capacity to care for his own well being and that's tied to how he's expecting to die in the near future anyways.

Vessel Type & General ideas: Leaning heavy towards Beastkin so he can have cooler animal companions than Megumi's familiars because I love the idea of Yuji forming "a pack" and always having support with him. He receives a lot of help from other sorcerers in canon, in battle and just by learning from them, and I think this would be a cool twist on that.

Plus he deserves to have a ton of emotional support animals to help with the horrors.

Canon: Final Fantasy XVI
Brief Info: Clive is the protag of his game. Clive has lived a hard life. A lot of bad things have happened to him. Became a child soldier to protect his baby brother, mom tried to murder him, he was forced into slavery, thought he killed his baby brother, etc. Oh, and found out that he is a vessel to a God who wants to basically wipe his world away and start a new one, just to name a few.

Despite all of this, he is a kind man who puts the needs of others before his own. He has dedicated his life to liberating enslaved people and changing his world so everyone can live and die on their own terms. No more slavery, no more magic destroying their lands. He believes that there is good in the world, but does not deny the fact that the world is also an ugly place.

Vessel Type & General ideas: I would want Clive to be an Offering. He would be a reflection of his Eikon, Ifrit, which leads me towards having his form be that of a Daemon.

I love the idea of exploring the inner monster in Clive, something that he has been concerned he would become for quite some time and how that would impact not only the people around him, but what the world might end up looking like were he to lose control and become the monster he has always feared. I enjoy exploring complex relationships between characters, maybe even leaning towards creating something that can lead to a Tether. I also loves me some good action scenes, too.

I’m almost totally unfamiliar with the newer FF games but I love the sound of Clive, and your plans to make him big and bad. This is good stuff, he sounds like a sweetie.

I have two boys I’ll be TDM-ing one is this guy, who will really be embracing being a big beast because he hates his body. The other is a guy who was born to be the antichrist/a demon vehicle so he’d feel for Clive's vessel situation.

Brief Info: Joshua began life as the sweetest bean you can imagine. Kind, caring, thoughtful. He was born sick and suffers a life long illness, which he stubbornly ignores much to his physicker’s chagrin. However, when he was an infant he awoke as the Dominant of the Phoenix, one of 8 hosts to the pieces of God™. This means he can transform into a giant fire bird and rain fiery death down upon people. It also means he can heal people. He cannot bring people back from the dead. Being the Phoenix is not at all important and doesn’t shape the entirety of his life(lie). It’s not like his kingdom reveres the Phoenix above anything(also a lie).

Through a terrible series of events Joshua loses his family, his kingdom, and his life at the tender age of 12. Sorta. His dad got beheaded in front of him, his brother disappeared after sorta maybe killing Joshua twice, and his mother was the one who organized the coup to sell their kingdom up the river. Joshua awakens from a magic coma and spends the rest of his life searching for and protecting his older brother in his fight against God™ to liberate mankind.



Vessel Type & General ideas: I mean the easy option is to have him be a Token//Pyromancer, which could be fun to play with having his fires become more destructive and out of control. He is one to keep his emotions in check so watching his fire and heat give that away would be pretty neat.

Token//Bloodwright would be far more interesting to play with, I think. Especially since he is always coughing up his own blood anyway. Might as well put it to use!! But Joshua is a crafty man and I think he could get lost a little in the intricacies of blood magic, probably to his detriment. Get lost in the sauce as one does.

I really want to play as a Joshua who is slowly becoming corrupted. The man locks God™ in his chest and the canon didn’t have it infect him! What a missed opportunity!! But basically I want to have the goodest boy falling to the baddest instincts and mind/body madness this game seems to offer. I want to explore him having to form deep bonds with people, a thing he has avoided since he has a terminal illness. Too bad Joshua; get cherished, get fucked, and get fucked up.

Hello!! I am tragically canonblind to XVI (I want to play it so bad) But Joshua was the one I pointed to when seeing the trailer like "THAT ONE. That's my type of character" lmao. Anyway the Forsaken here is a god but also hates the other gods, and is drawn towards humans who have been in similar Terrible Situations as Joshua, so I think they would have a lot to talk about! He's also really skittish about forming bonds so... :)

Astarion was a privileged magistrate in the city of Baldur's Gate until he was bitten by the sadistic vampire, Cazador Szarr. As a vampire spawn, Astarion was compelled to follow Cazador's commands for two hundred years. After being abducted by mind flayers and infected with an illithid parasite, he's freed of the drawbacks of being a vampire spawn and can walk in the daylight, enter homes uninvited, and disobey his master's commands.

Even after two centuries of servitude, Astarion still has all the qualities of a spoiled noble: haughty, prejudiced, demanding. However, his time as a slave has also made him cynical, mistrusting, and vengeful. His top priority is looking out for number one, and his typical way of doing so is ingratiating himself with others through manipulation, often with sex and insincere flirtation.

Vessel Type & General ideas: he's already got body horror x2 with being a vampire and having a brain parasite SO i'm thinking token!! illusionist, bloodwright, and lightweaver (to be ironic...) are on my mind!! i mostly want him to be a little gremlin and make everyone's day worse. it's time to manipulate mansplain manwhore fellas

🌹 Luka is a veteran idol in a world where humans live on the margins of an alien society and many are enslaved as pets. A select few are prized for their singing wherein they compete on stage, not unlike your average Korean music program... Except that the loser is executed for a little added tension! Haha, yay!
🌹 Bred and raised for this express purpose, Luka is a survivor that has long learned resistance and emotional bonds are foolish. To the aliens he entertains, he is an obedient, frail, and princely figure whose performances are without flaw. To the humans he performs with... He is a cruel, ruthless, and dominating presence that finds their attempts at competition futile and amusing.
🌹 That is to say, Luka is a complete fucking weirdo incapable of normal human interaction, even with the one person he loves, and that isn't even the reason he repulses her!

Vessel Type & General Ideas:

🌹 I'm extremely unmarried to a vessel.
🌹 Offerings like kimera and seraph really lean into a lot of Luka's physicality, but the state of his health (asthma, migraines, and a congenital heart defect) in a setting like this is its own form of horror without either but especially kimera. Nonetheless, I really like the freakishness of kimera as a compliment to Luka's inability to act like a normal human being!
🌹 On the other hand, I think a token type like lightweaver is funny because Luka's emotions are so suppressed (and also he is a frequently unpleasant person), whereas illusionist taps into his, uh, stage methods and its boundaries with identity, the complete decompression from a pretty fucked up life in which Luka had no control to truly live.
🌹 Otherwise, I don't have hard plans for the game! Luka is post Wiege, middle of Karma, so he has a few guiding principles to explore more normal human interactions and settings (ish)... But I think his development is an open road that depends on game events and his CR, sooo... Yeehaw!! 🤠
🌹 I'm in the middle of starting a new term @ uni, so I will not be TLing! But I am open to using this as a sly little plotting post. I'd really like for Luka to die to the Mind Flayer/Abomination, being as he is cracked wide open during his current canonpoint, so if that's something someone wants to watch... Yeehaw...? 🤠??
